Advantages: Good location, decent amenities Disadvantages: Can't think of any
I use Alicante airport for my annual break in Spain and find it is convenient and fairly easy to use.
It is situated just outside Alicante on the Costa Blanca, around 46.5km from Benidorm. It is within driving distance of Valencia, around two hours and 179km.
Arrivals
You would probably fly to Alicante if you were staying in Benidorm, Torrevieja, Altea, Calpe, Moraira or Teulada. It is popular with budget airlines such as Easyjet and Bmibaby and there are flights from many regional airports in the UK such as East Midlands, Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle and Stansted to name a few.
There are around ten car hire companies who operate out of the airport including the big names like Avis, Europcar and Hertz, these desks are located in the arrivals hall and can get busy at peak times. There are also local car hire companies who ...
Advantages: Beautiful,Clean city Disadvantages: Expensive, hilly, hardly any English spoken
Benidorm where 2 out of 3 people are English and there is a glut of cheap eating places & entertainment(of which there seemed very little of in Alicante)

On the plus side it is a beautiful city with some lovely parks and the highlight was the walk along the park on the seafront, especially at night, with all the stalls & street traders.
As far as I am concerned I am glad I went as it was an experience but unless I ever learn Spanish one I doubt I will ever repeat ...
Advantages: Excellent weather, warming sun, gorgeous seaside, awesome nightlife Disadvantages: Beaches might be too crowded in the summer, no winter sports to do
Let's go and do a bit of Alicante travel. The first place to visit is the gorgeous beachfront by the harbour, then along the main pedestrian walkway, the ´Explanada de España´, a stunning promenade by the sea decorated with black, red and cream marble and surrounded by beautiful palm trees nearby the street shops and cafes. This is a striking place where you can enjoy an outdoor seafront concert in the balmy summery Sunday mornings and bank holidays.
Touring towards the center, northwest of the ´Explanada´, we can find the impressive Cathedral of Saint Nicholas surrounded by the narrow streets of the old quarter of ´El Barro´, where the best nightlife and some of the cheapest accommodation can be found. Walking towards the southwest by ´Calle de Italia´ we bump into the main tourist information and post offices as well as the central bus ...
