HP Reef, North Male Atoll, Kaafu Atoll

Advantages: beautiful scenery, quiet and unspoilt
Disadvantages: no large cities near (a disadvantage?!)

...-one speaks English apart from the few ex-pats, a man who sells HP sauce on Montaigu market and the odd elderly lady who is “making” evening classes. The Plan d’Eau - the French equivalent of our Lidos but better - are all deserted and their imported St. Tropez sand is untouched by all but the few who know the secrets of Tarn et Garonne. But there is life here. A visit to Moissac with its extraordinary abbey - reveals an interestingly chic subculture - the dimly-lit bars contain ladies who lunch and men with Psion organisers. There are galleries of exquisitely expensive glass and pottery, antique shops and small design houses. The newsagent has more yachting magazines than a stall at Cowes week and after all you can commute to that ultimate centre of chic - Toulouse - in about 30 minutes with a following wind and a french... Advantages: Sunny beaches , great resorts, peaceful environment.
Disadvantages: works out to be a costly holiday but worth it

...Paradise in real life: I should say that its an excellent relaxing hideaway for honeymooners. It’s a perfect place for those who yearn for tranquillity and privacy in a natural surrounding. We had been there for our honeymoon in 2003. We enjoyed every moment of this holiday. We stayed at two different resorts to make the best out of our stay. I will go in detail about both the resorts : 1) Taj Coral Reef 2) Paradise resort. Taj coral reef: Located in the north male atoll. There is pickup from the airport which is by a speed boat. The resort is truly world class and a perfect destination for those seeking tranquillity and privacy. Advantages: Diving, Snorkelling, scenery, Food, cabins everything.
Disadvantages: not long enough!!

...We have just returned from an amazing holiday that was a week on the Atoll Explorer and a week on Biyadhoo. (12/8/07to 27/8/07) The previous review is very true today. We booked through Voyages Jules Verne on their internet site.The whole holiday cost £3,390 for the two of us. We were transfered by speedboat to the Atoll Explorer and were welcomed with a cocktail and a brief outline of the boat and itinery for the North Ari Atoll trip. The boat is perfect for both serious divers and those who snorkel or just want a relaxing holiday in the most photographic locations. It is a liveaboard dive boat. We had booked a B cabin and had cabin 19a which had a small balcony with two chairs. Though small it was perfect with a great picture window like patio doors with air conditioning as well.
