If you are looking for Christian related sites, there is nothing of real interest in Haifa. There are a few very nice beaches though, where you can sit on the sand under umbrellas, or on the grass under the shade of trees and sip carrot juice (10 shekels or GBP 1.60 a go). I also went to the Bat Galim beach. It was interesting as it was men-only that day and filled with orthodox Jews. More a cultural experience than a relaxing swim. One good thing about Haifa is that you can stay there on your way to the Golan Heights, the Sea of Galilee, or Nazareth.
Advantages: Bahai, Carmelite, Cable-Car and more Disadvantages: Not terribly touristy (which could be an advantage), not all that much to see

On the eastern side of the peninsula, there is a small bay which ...
Advantages: hot weather Disadvantages: violence between jews and arabs
Israel was one of the most popular holiday destinations. But now it has been severely hit by all of the violent clashes between the Israelis and Arabs.
There is still a lot to do though in Israel. For example in Jerusalem, both the capital of Israel and the most holy place for many religions. There is the Golden Mosque, the Wailing (Western) Wall and the traditional streets with the markets. There are also many other towns to visit, like Haifa and Tel Aviv.
The climate in Israel is very hot. They can go for months upon months without having any rain. Even though it may sound great, it is very important when you are there to drink plenty of water. Sometimes, if you pour some water on the ground, it will take only a matter of seconds for it to totally evaporate.
When you get there you will have a great time- but getting there ...
