...THE HAMPSHIRE HOTEL – 47th STREET –NYC Amidst the hustle and bustle of 47th street you will find the glass doors of THE HAMPSHIRE HOTEL. Pull them open, step inside and you will go, “AH”! A breathtaking chandelier, marble galore and a plush seating area will catch your fancy. Walk to the front desk to check-in and all the ambiance and magic of the grand entrance will be tarnished. A rude employee will tell you to just take a seat and wait. As you wait, (tired from your travels and anxious to freshen-up) for 10, 15, 20 minutes you will become increasing agitated. Periodic trips to the front desk will be to no avail. Again and again you will hear --- “just sit and wait”. ...Back at the start of the year I decided, along with my parents, that a trip to the opening weekend of Oktoberfest in Munich was a great idea for a holiday this year. The only problem seemed to be the cost of a hotel in Munich itself for that weekend. The majority of places were booked up and those that weren't wanted anywhere from £100 + per person per night. It was for this reason that we ended up staying in Starnberg, about half an hour to the south of central Munich. When my dad told me about it, it seemed a little excessive, we would spend half an hour each way on a train. The more I thought about it though, the more the Hotel Bayerischer Hof seemed to be quite appealing. It's located on the edge of lake Starnberg, about half an hour south of Munich towards the Austrian border. If it had been in Britain you could guarantee... Read review

...in the Manchester/Nashua/Bedford area. The Mall of New Hampshire, Manchester, is owned by 'Simon', same as our local mall. This made it really easy for me to buy Mall certificates. A wide variety of shops, far more than our small Mall. I purchased an aluminum scooter, originally $99 for just $29.99 (17 pounds 60 cents) and no sales tax, at Olympia Sports. Folds up really small for flying back home. Yes, New Hampshire doesn't have sales tax, but the people who live there, pay a fortune in property taxes. All the big chain stores are there. Best Buys, Wal-mart, Sam's Club, Dillards, Sears, J.C.Penny. Just to name a few. Restaurants. We have eaten at most restaurants close to Len's daughter's house.
