First of all I have to say that I am german and that I live near Hannover and of course I visited the Expo2000 for myself. But I was both, shocked and amazed about what I saw. The Expo was planned since 1990 (!) and it is still too expensive. To be honest: the creators of the Expo weren t able to plan this world exposition correctly although they had 10 years time. And Germany paid Millions of german marks and the german people who pay their taxes are very angry about this. They paid for the Expo too. And now ? What do we have ? The Expo didn t even reach the half of the expected visitors and yesterday the Expo comission decided to spend another 50 Million german Marks for advertising campaigns. And that is unbelievable mess. Many germans are very very angry about that. The other point is that the Expo itself is very expensive. The fare is too high, and I was afraid to eat or drink something because the prices are too high for the normal working people. For example: A german family with 2 children can t pay so much. Then I noticed that many things were made new just for the Expo: Hannover train station was completely renewed, the airports got safer, Hotels were renewed...and all this just for a good looking Germany ? I mean for Germany it is clever made. The Expo and all other things related to it were made more expensive because people have to stay longer. That is because the Expo is so large. You can t see everything in a few hours or on one single day, that s right. But on the other hand you will see so much of multimedia and technical stuff that you don t want it anymore. It s too much. That was the part which made me angry. I had to leave the Expo after 7 hours because my head was totally full with just the multimedia expressions. I haven t even seen most of the pavillons. All together, the Expo was a waste of time and money, it wasn t planned correctly and I don t think that there will be a good result after it is over in october. I don t want to blame Hannover and the Exposition, I just want to warn everybody so that you aren t sad if you didn t get what you want.
