The Hanover is well placed geographically to take advantage of bus and train routes in Victoria and also for several major Tourist attractions. This appears to be the only positive attribute. I have just stayed with my family and found the room we stayed in to be extremely small, with worn out decoration and furniture. Although we were given fresh towels everyday, the beds were re-made without fresh linen for the length of our stay. The cups with the complimentary tea tray in the room were all dirty on our arrival. Continental breakfast was served consisting of orange juice, Tea/Coffee, Toast and a choice of 4 cereals. Much of the crockery in the dining room was chipped and the morning ritual often began with finding a set of crockery to eat from that was in good condition. The staff were not friendly and did not engage in conversation with guests unless they had to. If considering booking here it has to be remembered that this is a budget hotel. There are no frills and even some basics are not covered such as curtesy, cleanliness and room space
