Advantages: Beautiful scenery Disadvantages: Can be cold in winter
...which has both shops and scenery, this is very beautiful. There are also small shopping malls around Princes street.
Being a small city, most of the attractions in Edinburgh are not very far apart. There are a variety of museums, art galleries, there is Holyrod House, which is the Queens place of residence, when she is in Scotland. There is also Holyrod park which is an ideal place if you want to go hill climbing. The view from the top of the hills is beautiful.
I have visited the city in the middle of winter and found it a wonderful experience, summer will probably be as wonderful but in a different way.
Loch Lomond, is a Loch which is just on the edge of the highlands. It is a very beautiful place. In the background you can see the tops of mountains with their peaks covered in snow.
My advise is that, if you want to watch movies, go...

Advantages: You can reach any corner of Edinburgh within half hour of bus ride. Disadvantages: Roads are not as buggy friendly as in London
...end. Thousands of people participate in the torch procession from the Edinburgh Old Town to Calton hill.Night afroe Fiesta is a street carnival with themes changing every year. There's music, dance and street theatre in a carnival atmosphere.
Shopping: I was amazed to see so many charity shops in Edinburgh.Nicholson street is crowded with such shops which sell secondhand donated items. You can get an Armani or Versace for a bargain that you yourself won't believe. I especially fell for the decorative pieces.Hoarded a lot of them and then gave them away to friends and relatives after returning home. They were so happy to receive Scottish souvenirs and I was happy to make them happy without spending a fortune.Let's face it, when you are on a holiday, the worst nightmare( apart from pest infested hotel rooms) is the thought of spending...

Advantages: Plenty of space with a fab view Disadvantages: Not so easy to find
...It may be a hidden treasure but when you find it, it is well worth it!!!!
HOLYROOD apartHOTEL overlooks Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh and is very close to the new Scottish Parliment making it only a few minutes in a taxi from Princes Street. So the location is excellent, especially with so many pubs and entertainment only a few minutes away.
You could easily drive past the HOLYROOD apartHOTEL but a call to reception soon pointed us in the right direction and straight into the hotel car park. The car park is £5.00 per night but it very secure.
Check in was no problem, reception were very helpful and then guided us to our room on the 5th floor.
The apartment was lovely - very spacious and very clean. It consisted of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. The apartment was full of all the mod cons you...

I love Malmaison's brasseries. The boutique hotel chain's eateries have a really fantastic buzz about them. I think the atmosphere that they have managed to achieve is mainly due to their amazing ability to hire incredibly nice people.

Edinburgh is one of those cities near enough for us to visit for a weekend, and with enough attractions and shops to keep us all busy. So, we tend to go a couple of times a year.
