I must say that I was surprised to discover that no one had reviewed Hart's Hotel, Nottingham. A local girl, I have heard a great deal of good things about the hotel over the last couple of years and have harboured a desire to stay there for quite some times.
So recently, thanks to a superb special offer ran by the hotel, I finally achieved my aim and stayed at Hart's for one night. Now i'm afraid i must admit to the decadence of this decision - I live in Nottingham and therefore staying at a hotel isn't really necessary! But hopefully the fact that I didn't need to stay there helped with my assessment of the place.
I will go through the specific criteria and explain each of my ratings. For the record, I stayed one night in a standard room.
Value for money
Ok, so as I mentioned I was fortunate enough to get a room at a very, very reasonable rate. Around half of the standard room tariff rate of £120. So it is hard for me to comment on the value of the room at full price. I will say that the whole experience (the fantastic location, views over Nottingham, room facilities & cleanliness) was superb for the rate I got. It's a lovely place but £120 is quite expensive.
Quality of rooms
The room was surprisingly airy, not as compact as i'd have expected. Included in the room were a king sized bed (two singles connected together) which was very comfortable (very soft pillows), Bose radio, TV, Mini bar, Hairdryer and en-suite bathroom. All of which was fine for my needs. The window also opened quite wide which was nice on the lovely spring day I was staying.
Standards of Service
Nothing negative at all to say here. All the staff I came across were extremely helpful and friendly. Thumbs up!
Quality of food and drink
I can't really comment on this as I didn't eat or drink in the Harts Bar or Restaurant so I have rated this as average.
Cleanliness
Both the room and bathroom were spotless.
Quality of Facilities
The facilities in the room were excellent but I didn't use any facilities in the hotel such as the exercise room.
Family friendly
I cannot really comment on this as I didn't stay as part of a family so I have rated this average.
Other
Overall I really enjoyed my Harts experience. The location is just lovely - perfect for ambling into the city but it is also really quiet. I felt immediately more relaxed upon my arrival. The hotel also affords lovely views across The Park and Nottingham from the laidback Garden area. Whilst I wouldn't necessarily pay the full price tariff to stay here I would definitely consider staying again - even though I live in Nottingham!
