I have been living in Hastings since I have been living here that’s coming up 19 years and boy has it change alot in that time.
Hastings is a busy town just on the outside of St. Leonard’s-on-sea and near Fairlight.

***Activities***
Hastings has many activities for all ages for example: The Mini Golf on the seafront. The Adventure Golf, which has only just been finished, is superb for people wanting to find out if they are going to be the next Tiger Woods.
A fairground called Flamingo Park (I used to work there seasonally) which has very little ride for people of all ages to go on. What they do have are the Most ever Popular BUMPER CARS, 007 which is not for the faint hearted.
Hastings is a big place for all those gamblers out there who want to put money in those dreadful slot machines. You can find most of these on the sea front.
We have recently got a new ODEON cinema put in over the road from the Town Hall.

***Shopping Centres***
We have got a new shopping Centre directly in the middle of the town, which has been there for about 7 years now. Priory Meadow, which is the name of the shopping Centre, has got everything inside it. If you want to get some music you can go to Virgin, If you ladies want some Clothes you can either go to Etam, BHS or Burtons. If you wanted some computer games lads you could go to either GAME or Virgin.
The shopping Centre has brilliant facilities for all walks of life. They have Disabled access and muti story car park, Toilets, and regular shows that may be of interest to some of you.

***Radio Stations***
Hastings has its own radio station called Arrow Fm which is on the frequency of 107.8. You can listen to all kinds of music from the golden oldies to modern day music 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

***Local Events***
Hastings has lots of local events, which happen on a yearly basis. You have the Beer Festival, Bonfire night and much more. It does depend on the time of year though as most of these do get cancelled.

***Parks and Scenery***
Hastings has a variety of parks. In Hastings the biggest being Alexandra Park which is where I live over the road of. It has Ponds, Wildlife, Tennis Grounds, Rowing Clubs and even CLEAN public toilets. This park is a must see for those of you who like a bit of piece and quiet.

***History***
Hastings has alot of history to its name. It is renowned for the Battle of 1066 where the Norman’s from France invaded. It has a Bombsite, which no one can even go near as the legend say's there is still some live bombs from the World Wars 1 & 2.

***Education***
This area has a brilliant schooling system. If you read my review on getting electrocuted you will know what I mean.
You have a variety of primary and secondary schools to choose from.

***Street Beggars***
Sorry to include these people in such an Outstanding review but I have to. You do have a number of people walk up to you in the street and give you their life stories. They are a menace to our society.

***Hastings Pier***
Hastings has a new refurbished pier, which is over the road from the well-known theatre White Rock.

***Old Town***
Hastings has a very old, old town which has been there. I have just remembered something about the bourne in Hastings, which is now a road, but it was a river leading down to the sea.
Hastings old town is renowned for its fishing boats and fish. Those people get out of bed at 2am in the morning to catch Kippers. I used to have them for breakfast at the weekends, but have recently stopped, as they are too expensive.

***Close by Towns***
Hastings is surrounded with so many towns, which offer such a wide range of attractions for visitors. These areas include the following:
1) Fairlight - This has a country park, which is about twice the size of Alexandra Park, one of the biggest parks in the southeast to this day.
2) Camber Sands - This is the best place to be in the summer, I can just vaguely remember my first day trip to this amazing beach. THERE ARE NO STONES OR PEBBLES. JUST PURE SAND!

***Food***
Hastings offers alot of food to tourists within the summer months. You have a wide selection of cafe's, Restaurants, even bars and clubs.

***Clubs***
Hastings is a bit like London with all these nightclubs in action. My favorite on is called the Crypt, which is a kind of Grunge nightclub. For all those people who wish to try these out I would recommend the following:
1) G-Spot (Just on the outskirts of the Old Town)
2) The Crypt (Brilliant for live rock music)
3) The Green Room (Quiet nightclub for singles and Couples)

I would not recommend the following:
1) Papa Joes- this is the worst in Customer Service.
2) Visions - This is based on the seafront. Poorly priced drinks and not so lively.
3) JR’s - This has been shut down due to drugs being delt there with the managers consent.

***Family Pubs***
Every pub in Hastings is a family pub from the hours of 11am till 5pm. A highly recommended pub by myself is The TUBMAN, which is on the outskirts of Hastings Town Centre.
