The Galleria shopping centre based within the heart of Hatfield is regarded as the best shopping experience within the area. Originally the Galleria featured a considerable amount of widely branded high street stores, but due to lack of interest and consumer activity the Galleria evolved into an outlet shopping centre.
Currently the Galleria features approximately 75 stores selling a variety of products. These range from sporting goods enabling you to purchase your favourite football shirt in Allsports, to golf wear in the Crazy Golf Store.
To enhance your shopping experience refreshments stands and cafés are posted in various areas around the mall. There is also an entertainment area situated at the north end of the complex and this has a UCI cinema (showing around 8 releases at a time), fast food restaurants, an American Diner, an Italian restaurant, a pizza place and an Australian Restaurant and bar. The Hatfield Galleria also holds a series of events during the weekends. These include furniture sales, young enterprise fairs and the introduction of bungee swinging ropes for kids and even the national squash championships a few years ago.
In conclusion the Galleria is a convenient place to go shopping, with several hundred free parking places, though it lacks the glamour and larger stores found in centres such as Lakeside. Another positive fact is that just recently to make the environment more pleasant for everyone they have applied a no smoking ban in the inside of the complex.
