Super Stay at Sea Shore Sheraton

Advantages: Good location, Friendly staff, Great room, Ocean view was wonderful
Disadvantages: Expensive!

...deal of consideration, was the Sheraton Waikiki. Why? Well, the information we had showed it to be a "superior 4 star" hotel (which ticked the "good enough for honeymoon" box) positioned in the heart of Waikiki between the main avenue and the ocean (putting it in an excellent location), and it was within our budget (so we could still afford to eat). Better still, I had stayed in a Sheraton hotel previously and found it to be a very positive experience ...
...seemed a good choice. The Sheraton Waikiki is one of the major resort hotels in Hawaii, and one of two Sheraton hotels in the district of Waikiki (the other being the cheaper Princess Kaiulani, set further back from the ocean). Standing thirty stories high and housing 1,695 rooms, it was originally built in 1971 before undergoing major renovation work in 2007 to modernise it. The hotel is built right next to the beach (literally - there is just a ...

Turtle Bay Resort, Relax and enjoy the gorgeous views.

Advantages: all brilliant
Disadvantages: expensive

From my experience at the Turtle Bay Resort, I would absolutely recommend it to anyone else. My family and I (four of us) stayed in a little cottage at the side of the bay, with two luxurious king sized beds, an outside patio with a table and breath taking views- sunset was the most amazing time of the day. Our whole time there was very pleasant and I throughly enjoyed every second of it. The facilities included a games room and exciting pools, one ...

Disneyland meets Hawaii

Advantages: Good location
Disadvantages: Not for us and lots of little gripes lead to a worse memory

...location we settled on the Hilton Waikoloa Village resort, about 30mins drive north of Kona airport. One of the main reasons for this was that I was able to get a business to business discount at the hotel and the price was therefore very reasonable. The Hilton Waikoloa Resort sits on in the Waikoloa resort and covers 62 acres on the ocean front. There are 3 towers which in total contain 1,240 rooms and large numbers of shops and restaurants. There ...
...lagoon in which you can swim with Sea Turtles. It opened in 1989 and is built on an old lava flow although the amount of development means that this is only obvious once you exit the resort. When we first arrived at the hotel we were in a bit of a hurry as we had arranged to go to a Luau at a neighbouring resort so a quick check in would have been appreciated. Unfortunately it wasn't as quick as I would have liked and the stress levels started to ...

Back To What We Know Best - Hilton Hawaiian Village

Advantages: Nice location, feels slightly secluded on a busy beach
Disadvantages: A little gimmicky and not for the budget traveller

...soon switched. The Hilton sits at the top tip of Waikiki beach and fronts on to some of the largest expanses of sand along the entire beach. The resort is made up of 5 accommodation towers which offer a range of different accommodation types, we were staying in the Tapa Tower towards the rear, and it takes about 30mins to reach by car from the airport. After our experience at the Hilton Waikoloa earlier on our trip we were a little apprehensive but ...
...given its city location, the Hilton Hawaiian Village was still a little bit gimmicky. A wander around the hotel found a penguin enclosure and many shops and boutiques although this was less of an issue as we could leave the resort with much more ease than on the previous island and go and explore. There were also a number of swimming pools, each with its own character. The one closest to our tower was great for chilling and listening to the live ...

My Stay In Paradise

Advantages: Luxurious, Briliant Views, Paradise!
Disadvantages: I Had To Come Home!

...quick Google searches later and Kapalua Villas had found themselves at the top of our list. As the trip came closer and closer I did start to doubt my earlier decision but once we arrived, we never wanted to leave! The Kapalua Villas are part of the 2.3 square mile Kapalua resort in the North Western corner of the island of Maui. The resort houses the Ritz-Carlton hotel, Kapalua Luxury Villas in addition to the luxurious villas. The villas are then ...
...to 5 wonderful beaches, including Kapalua Bay that has been voted the best beach in the world by Condé Nest magazine. We were staying in a Bay villa, which, as the name suggests, is situated on a natural ocean bay. We arrived 27hrs after starting our journey in Manchester so were, understandably, not fully awake. Despite this, our initial impression was one of amazement. Our villa was more of an apartment and was consisted of one bedroom, a huge ...
