Advantages: Excellent Facilities
Disadvantages: A long time to check-in for the ship

...I have just got back from Hawaii after spending 7 days on the Norwegian Star cruising around the islands. The islands visited were Hawaii (Big Island), Fanning Island, Maui, Kaui and finally back to Honolulu (Oahu). The ship departs from Honolulu and arrives back there at the end of the cruise. Airfare was extra and was actually more expensive than the cruise - we booked in March and paid £600 each flying with United Airlines but on looking at United's website in September, the flights had gone up to £800 each, so it pays to book early. A cab from the airport to Honolulu costs approximately $26. We stayed in Honolulu for two days prior to the cruise and I would recommend this as it gives you time to get over the long journey! Advantages: regular loss of luggage, huge delays
Disadvantages: extremely cheap, extensive network in the middle east and central asia

...Turkish Airlines leave you with mixed feelings wherever you look: most advanced Middle Eastern airline, but a service quality which looks more like Eastern improvisation than Western professionalism; an Economy Class designed for Anatolian cattle, yet a Business Class to make you feel like a Pasha. The verdict depends much on whether you view them as a Middle Eastern airline or as a European carrier, i.e. which standrads they have to live up to. Advantages: What advantages? Should be renamed the NoStar Alliance.
Disadvantages: Too many to list.

...As many of you know, I am a frequent flyer on several of the major airlines. My travels have taken me to many parts of the world on several different airlines, some good, some bad, some not worth mentioning. This is an extremely long review. So, you have been warned! Personal History = The last time I flew with Singapore Airlines (SIA) was more than 10 years ago. On that fateful flight, the plane was delayed many hours, due to 'unforeseen technical problems'. They boarded , and unboarded (alighted) us many many times and did not even have the courtesy to provide the passengers with refreshments. On top of the delays, there was the food poisoning incident when I flew with them from Hong Kong to Singapore. Did I mention they are also part of the Star Alliance?
