...So my husband thinks he's the bee's knees and tried to fob me off with the old adage, well it's covered in saveloy sausages you know, but i wasn't fooled....no seriously.... I visited the Savoy with my best friend from NZ, she wanted a top London hotel for her last night here and after shopping around on the net and comparing a few of the best (Hazlitts, the Ritz, Browns etc) I booked a Queen size double at the Savoy for a website price of £149 (excluding tax and that inevitable 5% gratuity charge - the total for the room ONLY was £183) but still cheap for a 5 star in London and come on! The Savoy (located on the strand next to the river) is dripping in history, after all Caruso played there, Marilyn was photographed there and Wilde dined there. ...Before I get too carried away with this review let me warn you that this does go on for quite a while. However, I feel it only fair that you are all made fully aware of the facilities on offer at London City Airport I had cause to travel to London last week with business from Manchester to attend a seminar within the financial district. Upon being told this by my manager with about 2 weeks notice, I was faced with the dilemma of arranging my travel itinery. Effectively, I was faced with 3 options: 1. Drive, which didn't exactly fill me with excitement at the thought of a 600 mile round trip to attend a 4 hour seminar. 2. Get the train, which once again was a two and a half hour journey in both directions, plus associated tube journeys. Disadvantages: Signal Failures, Broken Trains and Heat!

...♣ The London Underground ♣ ----------------------------------------- Considering I travel on the London Underground at least 6 days a week, it seemed fitting that I came across this category to write under. On top of that, two years ago I spent two days raising money for St Helena Hospice by visiting all of the 275 stations on the network. By the way, if anyone ever feels the urge to do that, I would certainly recommend it as it is great fun. When I did it I wasn’t working to any time schedule but you may want to try and do it in the shortest time as possible for example. However, be aware that this may be affected by any engineering works or delays experienced.
