SO you have a choice to get to heathrow the tube of the heathrow express. And why exactly is their any competition - the tube with luggage and no fixed timetables - or the luxury of knowing exactly when you are gonna arrive in heathrow with comfy seats an somewhere to store the luggage safely. The only disadvantage is the cost - it is more expensive than the tube but if missing your plane is at stake isn't that worth the extra cost! I can undertanst getting the tube is time is no problem but when exactly is getting the airport leave you with plenty of time = i for one am not that organised

I agree the the HEX is much better and faster (at a price) than the Piccadilly Line, but there are a couple of ways in which it is inferior.
Paddington is not very central whereas the "Picc" runs right through the West End, and for incoming passengers, the taxi rank at Paddington is a pig.
