Advantages Excellent food, great menu, nice friendly staff, good value
Disadvantages The food is addictive.
Every time I go out in Nottingham they have opened another new bar or restaurant. Being the nosey, curious person that I am, I like to try as many as possible (purely in the name of research of course).
I do have to say that when I found my latest restaurant Henry J Beans (Cornerhouse – Nottingham) I was very pleasantly surprised.I had just finished my Friday rush at work, when my partner, who finishes earlier than me, turned up to take me out for dinner (by way of apology/creeping as he was ditching me that night for his mates). ‘Great’ I was thinking Mc Donald’s again, but I was wrong. We had noticed the restaurant having its finishing touches a few weeks back and I had commented that it looked interesting. So ‘bless him’ he was taking me there.
When we arrived I didn’t know what to expect, the restaurant was quite spacious, not too bright, nicely decorated – not too many bright colours and the staff looked very friendly. So we took a nice table by the window. A waitress quickly joined us and gave us a menu, she took our drinks order an off she went. The menu you was great, lots of hot and cold snacks and baguettes, platters to share, ribs, wings, steaks, burgers and many other tasty looking treats. We both decided to have a burger. My partner had the Swiss cheese and mushroom and I had the Blue cheese. The drinks were very quick to arrive and the food wasn’t long behind.Wow!! These burgers are unbelievable, they are so succulent and tasty, and you will think you have not lived when you taste one. I didn’t want the damn thing to end, it really was that nice, we had swapped with each other and had half of each. They were both fantastic. They are really big burgers served with chips, but the burgers are so juicy, loads of topping and the meat is just sublime.
Well I thought if they are so great what pray tell will the puddings be like. My partner had key lime pie and I had a Chocolate Fudge Brownie slices with ice cream and fresh cream. Again wow!! They were so nice. My partners said it was the best dessert he has ever tasted and mine wasn’t bad either. I was dreaming of chocolate brownies for the next two nights. To sum up, the food is excellent; the place itself is very nice. The staff are very good, our waitress Louise was very nice, really helpful but not to pushy, there’s nothing worse than trying to eat and not getting 5 minutes peace from you waitress.
So please if you live here in sunny Nottingham or are just planning to visit, go, it is well worth it.
Enjoy!!!!
