I was always put off going to Henry Wongs because of the prices when there was a much cheaper and tasty chinese takeaway just round the corner. I did get a chance to try it though when a friend decided to take me there for dinner. The menu was pretty standard for a chinese restaurants with old favorites such as peking duck and beef in black bean sauce. I ordered the special chilli king prawns with egg fried rice and my friend had the chicken with cashew nuts. Both dishes were very good and the house white wine was pleasant aswell. The dishes cost around £6 and the portions were large. I liked the surroundings with green bamboo shoots in vases and potted palms. The service was also efficient and there seemed to be quite a few regular customers. Overall I recommend this place if you want to be guaranteed a nice meal and don't mind spending a bit more. You can find it on Harborne high street near the petrol station.
