Advantages: Great location & cheap Disadvantages: Not that many food places around
I visited Barcelona this July and stayed at the Hotel Hesperia Del Mar for five nights with 3 other friends and I have to honestly say we all loved it! The hotel price which we got from expedia was one of the most competitive around and we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel, for how cheap the hotel was it was quite nice. It cost for five night my share was 145 so the entire room cost was 290. The hotel reception staff were the highlight of the hotel. They are very friendly, warm and always willing to help! The rooms were standard and offered everything we needed. The bathroom was fully equipped with a shower, toilet, bidet and sink with large mirror. The bedroom consisted of 2 single beds and were comfy. There is air conditioning so we never felt hot and flustered in the room unless we turned it off and forgot to put it ...
Advantages: Friendly. Disadvantages: Just a little too far from the centre.
A 20 minute taxi ride (£15) or 25-30 minute bus ride (£2.50) from the airport and you have arrived at the 4* Radisson SAS Hesperia Hotel, Helsinki (Finland) part of the Radisson Group.

The hotel itself is what I would expect of a 4* chain and it didn't exceed expectation or fall short either. The staff were welcoming and informative, with just the right amount of attentiveness. The accommodation was fine ...

Advantages: Fantastic rooms - they thought of almost everything Disadvantages: A long way from the centre of the city
travellers would appreciate all being grouped together. I believe the idea was that security would be enhanced if all the women were in the same place so that there was no reason for any odd men to be lurking around the corridors. These rooms would often have enhanced security features such as door chains, peep holes, even panic alarms, and hotels would guarantee that nobody such as housekeeping or room service would be sent to your room without reception calling ahead to say they were on their way. To be honest, I have to say that I found all that sort of stuff a bit over the top and at times a tad silly. If I was that much of a scaredy-cat I'd never leave my home, let alone go all over the world.
The Spanish hotel chain Hesperia has taken a slightly difficult approach to the whole 'girly-room' challenge with their 'Pink Room' concept which I ...
