location at the corner of Muntaner Street and Diagonal Avenue in about 15 minutes walking distance from Plaza Catalunya and Ramblas, in the middle of one of the most important commercial and business zones in Barcelona. Our hotel is located in the heart of the city of Barcelona, in the financial, commercial and business centre. Moreover, it has been totally refurbished in 2005. The hotel offers 151 modern style rooms equipped with all kind of details and pillow menu. Additionally, the building offers soundproof meeting and banquet rooms with natural day light.
Advantages: Fantastic rooms - they thought of almost everything Disadvantages: A long way from the centre of the city
...experienced at the Hesperia Sant Just on the outskirts of Barcelona. Apparently you can pre-book a pink room at no extra cost so I'm not sure if that's what our secretary did or if I was just randomly assigned to a Pinkie.
I'd probably been in the room for about an hour before I twigged that something odd was going on. I'd vaguely registered that there was a glossy magazine on the coffee table but since it was in Spanish and since a lot of hotels have magazines, that hadn't triggered any thoughts. I'd clocked the immense number of freebie toiletries in the bathroom including such non-standard delights as a bath sponge, conditioner, make-up removal towel, lip balm, deodorant, nail file and cotton buds but even with the discrete little box with tampons and sanitary towels, all I'd registered was 'hmm, I wonder if that's standard?' I'd marvelled...

Advantages: Great location & cheap Disadvantages: Not that many food places around
...I visited Barcelona this July and stayed at the Hotel Hesperia Del Mar for five nights with 3 other friends and I have to honestly say we all loved it! The hotel price which we got from expedia was one of the most competitive around and we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel, for how cheap the hotel was it was quite nice. It cost for five night my share was 145 so the entire room cost was 290. The hotel reception staff were the highlight of the hotel. They are very friendly, warm and always willing to help! The rooms were standard and offered everything we needed. The bathroom was fully equipped with a shower, toilet, bidet and sink with large mirror. The bedroom consisted of 2 single beds and were comfy. There is air conditioning so we never felt hot and flustered in the room unless we turned it off and forgot to put...

Advantages: Smart looking hotel in convenient location with spacious rooms Disadvantages: In a rough area, very noisy at night
...It’s likely that most of you have never heard of Zaragoza. Well, it’s situated in northeast Spain at the foot of the Pyrenees and is not very far from Barcelona. At the moment it is not known as a foreign tourist destination but it is big with the Spanish because of the holy significance of the Basilica where the Virgin Mary was supposed to have descended from heaven on a pillar. Hence the common Spanish girl’s name, Pilar. The attraction of the place to me was that it is not overrun with other tourists, prices are not jacked up in the summer, and the new Ryanair route has made travelling there easy. However, this may change because Zaragoza hosts Expo 2008 next year.
The problem with visiting a city that is not well known is that there are very few reviews on the hotels there. So you are a bit of a pioneer for other tourists...

There was a time - not so long ago - when business travellers were almost all men and suppliers to the industry (airlines, hotels etc) built their offer around what men wanted. Cutting edge hotel décor was of the 'dark wood - black leather - lots of... more

I have just returned from staying in this hotel with my boyfriend over New Years for 2 nights. We booked it through Hotel Direct, as they offered the best deal and I have used them before without any problems.
