Advantages: Friendly and very Egyptian Disadvantages: Not many sites to see, out of the way of most tourists (but that's why I like it!)
Despite its amazing history, there is almost nothing left of ancient Alexandria - if you go there hoping to see the sort of remains that can be found in places like Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, you will be sorely disappointed. It is also not exactly what you would call 'beautiful' despite the fact that Egyptians call it the 'Pearl of the Mediterranean' and visit in their millions during the summer.
Nevertheless, any visitor to Egypt should not forget Alexandria, for it is a truly wonderful city and full of character. You will probably see more of the 'real' Egypt during a weekend in Alex than a month touring the more famous sites further south. I spent a year living there while I was a student and totally fell in love with the place, although I didn't really realise this until I had flown home! Typical!

and unhelpful and they certainly didn't really want to help me when I was asking for directions to the arena, and they couldn't even be bothered to show me where the lift was so I could get to my room! I found the room itself unclean and unsafe and the hotel itself was lacking cleanliness everywhere (even in the lifts which I wouldve thought wasn't a hard job to maintain!) I am disgusted as I got recommended to come here and I left wishing I had stayed at the hotel next door! We have stayed at other Hilton hotels and been very impressed with everything throughout (Especially the Hilton hotels in Scotland and Birmingham) but the Wembley plaza is a major let down for the company. off the impression of a real warmth and opulence with the bar and restaurant located to the left as we entered the building and the steps and lifts for guests staying at the hotel on the right. For people staying at the hotel for leisure purposes, there was a selection of tourist leaflets which, rather surprisingly, boasted of towns such as Warwick and Stratford-Upon-Avon as opposed to Coventry itself so we almost did a double take and thought ?hand on: where ARE we actually staying?!?
