Advantages: interactive fun place Disadvantages: not an entire day trip
I don't think I will be doing Bracknell an injustice if I say that it isn't really necessarily the first place that springs to mind if you think "good family day out", it is not really a top tourist destination, probably best known for its maze of roundabouts and subways.
The Look Out Discovery Centre is, however, a great place to visit and well worth it if you are in the area or staying at nearby Legoland.
Where is it?
The Discovery Centre is situated in the outskirts of Bracknell and easily accessible from junction 3 of the M3. It is a small centre nestled in the forest and opposite Coral Reef, an indoor adventure swimming pool - a trip to both would make for a good family day.
Practical Info:
The centre consists of 3 parts; an outside play area and adventure playground (free), a hands on science area ...
Advantages: Big breakfasts close to Legoland Disadvantages: A bit tired, nothing special
HiltonBracknell
On a recent trip to Legoland we chose this hotel because it was close to Legoland, near to the trains should we want to go into London, and best of all it offered a three day pass into Legoland
FIRST IMPRESSIONS?
The hotel is conveniently situated off a main road, and yet set far enough back so that there is no traffic noise and offers lots of parking round the back.
Once we had taken our cases into the spacious lobby containing a big check in desk and lots of comfy sofas and chairs, the check in process was fairly speedy and simple, and we were given the keys to our room.
THE BEDROOM AND BATHROOM
Since it was only Little Miss and I, we had a twin room, containing, as expected, two single beds, bedside tables, desk and wardrobe with 4 hangers! No matter, we don't get to proud about hanging up our clothes ...

What is it?
This is an ideal place for children and adults of all ages. Apart from the indoor hands on science activites, there is plenty of family fun. There is an outdoor adventure play area, woodland to explore, nature trails, and plenty of fun for all the family! You can take your bikes and ride in the woodland and trails, even take your dog!!
Prices:
The woodland and outdoor play area are free, but the science exhibits inside you need to pay for. You don't have to visit this area, but we found it to be very good value for money.
