Advantages: comfortable, beach location, better value than newer 5 star hotels, good customer service. Disadvantages: overshadowed by construction of taller buildings behind the Hilton - pool area is partly shaded
...beach strip apart from the Hilton Hotel; the surrounding land was just barren desert. However, after my present visit in 2006 I was surprised to see there were about 200 buildings being constructed behind the Hilton Hotel! If you've read this far and are thinking it's a big no, no you'll be surprised at how much the construction doesn't really bother you. As soon as you catch a glimpse of the white sandy beaches against the clear blue skies and hear ... ...which is 5 star. The Hilton also currently costs about the same as Oasis Beach Hotel. A sea view double room; Deluxe Plus costs 950 AED plus 20% service charge and tax per night (~£150 for the room which is £75 per person). We wanted to avoid land view rooms (due to the construction). Land view rooms however are cheaper and may be worthwhile if you will be out most of the time. The Hilton is a much bigger hotel than Oasis Beach Hotel having 389 rooms, ...

Advantages: Beautiful beach hotel in the most buzzing area of Dubai! Disadvantages: There is still construction surrounding the hotel, but everywhere has to start somewhere.
...remember and can say with first hand experience that it is a great hotel, full of character and well worth a visit!

Advantages: Luxurious, excellent service & facilities, great food, helpful staff etc....... Disadvantages: None!
..., pouring your drinks or cooling you down with a light misting of chilled Evian as you relax in the sun!
Another great advantage of this hotel is that it is in an established part of Dubai where there is no building work currently underway, much more peaceful than the other end of Jumeirah Beach (near the Hilton and others) where there are cranes and construction sites everywhere.
Disadvantages........... a bit too expensive to go back every year....
