...located in the coast of the atltantic ocean.There is a botanical garden in the town and there are also a great number of natural dark earth beaches.Check out the SEME beach in Mile 11 Limbe.There is a sand beach in a town called Kribi which is located close to the city of Douala. Security Get somebody to move around with you that knows the towns.There is no emergency police service that you can call and get help right away.Dress casually and try not to act as a total stranger and you would be okay.Most of the inhabitants of the country are okay and they would not just attack a stranger.Carry your indentification papers with you for there are checks by policemen and gendarmes as you move from one town to another. ...A year or so ago, Stakis Hotels ceased to exist as they was taken over by another famous hotel chain called HILTON (www.hilton.com). All old Stakis Hotels are still in existence but have changed names and some have had major refurbishments (Hilton Dunblane Hydro for one). I am a fan of weekend breaks (especially having 2 young kids and working full time)and I have stayed at several Hilton hotels, usually when they are offering special rates. My 2 most recent breaks were to the Hilton Coylumbridge, near Aviemore and Hilton Strathclyde, near Glasgow. Both were on Winter Break Specials for 2 nights for 2 people B&B with diner included on the first night for only £99 (pretty good eh?) This price goes up slightly in Feb, March and April. They did however offer the same deal last summer - well worth a visit.... Read review

...The Hilton hotel in Blackpool is in an ideal location on the sea front at the end of the promenade. The rooms are on the small side but have all the necessities. I do not think it is as luxurious as some other Hiltons and it appears to be an oldish hotel, which has been taken over by this company. The shower was a bit disappointing - weak and too short for anyone over six foot! On the plus side, the hotel lobby is very glamorous and the staff were very helpful. The buffet breakfast was huge and could satisfy anyone. I had dinner there but was quite disappointed with meal as it was fairly ordinary. Warning though, the bar prices are extortionate! There was also a live singer in the bar who was very entertaining. The swimming pool is nice but a little on the small side.... Read review
