If you bring children I think it is well worth to watch. There is a big park in the city centre which is said the biggest city park in the world. It is very close to the Lyon University 1 tram station. You can walk there for 10 mins. There are free zoo and botanic garden inside the park. Many animals and plants are from North Africa. It is also a good place to visit.
Lyon is a nice place for travelling, sight-seeing and, of cause, for food.
There are two rivers go through Lyon city. The tram and bus are very convenient to go around the city centre. A single ticket is 1.6 euros valid for 60 minutes. The old city area is the first place to go for tourists. The famous Horaires Church was build on the top of the hill. You can climb up by feet or by tram. It is not far about 10 mins by walking. On the top of hill you can overlook the whole city which was amazing. After visiting the church and going down the hill you must feel hungery then it is time to have dinner. You have a lot of choices in the old Lyon area. Local people start to eat around 8pm and finish until midnight. It was crowd but fun.
I had a conference in Lyon this summer. The evening banquet was chosen in Hilton hotel. The food was very nice and the service was good. But actually I would like to recomment two dishes I had in restaurants in old Lyon city. One is snail. It was included in a 3-course of 25 euros, or 14 euros if you order seperately. I really love it, particularly the soup inside each snail! Pour the soup on a bread before taste the muscle and enjoy the bread! Another dish is frog legs. We have the similar dish in China. So recommend them to "brave" people.

By the way the websit to buy cheap ticket of TGV (the express train in France) is: www.idtgv.com/ You must buy online and print out your ticket. It requires you providing your name and you can not give it to someone else once you buy it.
Advantages: Nice & Modern overlooking the park Disadvantages: Not in the city centre
...have never stayed in another Hilton so cannot compare but it is definatly nicer than the Ibis that I normally stay in in Lyon. Right by the international conference centre too so perfect if you've got business meetings there. In fact the hotel does rather feel that it's there to meet business needs rather than leisure. If you pay for an executive room you would also get use of the swimming pool and a breakfast buffet for free. Definatley worth the ...
