The staff were friendly and helpful. All of the ones I encountered spoke English as well as French.
Rooms were fairly secure as you need a key to use the lift. The ensuite was large and had a seperate shower and bath. Toiletries provided were lovely (crabtree i think) but the dressing gown seemed old and uncomfortable. Towels were fresh and changed daily if you wished. Hotel was nice and modern and rooms were ok, although could do with a lick of paint! It was very clean and the balcolny overlooked the park & lake which was lovely - however half the rooms would overlook a main road so make sure you specify that you want to stay on the park side of the hotel! The balcolny was large and had a table and 2 chairs so in the summer months would make a nice place to lounge. Internet worked well in the room although you do have to pay extra for it. Tea and coffee making facilities were available. Satellite TV is also available in the room.
The hotel is located about 15mins bus ride away from the city centre but the buses are regular and run approximatley every ten minutes until just after midnight. Bus tickets cost 4.30 euros for the whole day and these can be used on the metro, tram, trolley buses and buses. The main train stations are both easy to get to from the hotel using public transport.
The contemporary art museum is right by the hotel. The park that is opposite contains a zoo and botanical gardens. There is a cinema 30 seconds away which shows films in english if you fancy seeing something. A variety of restaurants as well as the ones in the hotel (thai and brasserie) and a few bars as well so even though the hotel isn't in the centre there is still somewhere to go in the evening. I didn't eat in the hotel as there was no vegetarian food provided so i'm not sure of the price. The thai restaurant is meant to be very nice but obviously not if you're not a meat eater - they did do fish though. Buffet breakfast costs 23 euros but I opted to go into the town centre and just buy myself a coffee and croissant there.
Checking in and out was very easy, literally just signed as I had booked online. Nothing complicated although they do charge you a local tax when you check out (it's about 1 euro per person per night).
I have never stayed in another Hilton so cannot compare but it is definatly nicer than the Ibis that I normally stay in in Lyon.
Right by the international conference centre too so perfect if you've got business meetings there. In fact the hotel does rather feel that it's there to meet business needs rather than leisure.
If you pay for an executive room you would also get use of the swimming pool and a breakfast buffet for free.
Definatley worth the money if you can get a good deal - not sure I would pay full price for it though! Nice for a change and does offer better quality rooms. Would definatly recommend for people in Lyon on business.

Quite a Good Review , but I think that it needs a lot more information and detail to justify a higher rating. Hotel Reviews need to include lots of detail on everything from the quality and quantity of the food, to the price, to the state of the ensuites. It helps if you write every product Review as if you’re writing for someone who has virtually no knowledge of what you’re reviewing, in clear non technical language. You might find it helpful if you read and rate some other peoples’ reviews (especially those that have been rated VH or E). It might give you an idea of the sort of things you need to include. It might also be helpful if you had a look at the Ciao guides to writing Reviews and Rating I found them really useful. If I can be of any help feel free to put a note in my gb. Rich
