Advantages: Nice location, feels slightly secluded on a busy beach Disadvantages: A little gimmicky and not for the budget traveller
a sea view overlooking the other towers (clever advertising in my opinion) and we could see down to Diamond Head at the bottom tip of Waikiki but then we weren't planning on spending time in our room to admire the view.
After a quick shower it was time to get some food. After our experience at the Waikoloa we were a little wary but thankfully, given its beach front location in a bustling city, all of the resorts restaurants were open and it wasn?t hard to find a table at one that caught our fancy. The 'Village Steak & Seafood' does exactly what it says on the tin and serves some of the nicest food that we had on our trip. In fact it was so good that we returned 2 nights later on our final night before heading home and I would recommended anyone heading there for a steak to watch sunset, even if you aren't staying at the Hilton! Advantages: In a good location, many friendly members of staff, spacious rooms Disadvantages: Questionable hygiene and maintenance issues
Long before a certain American socialite claimed that everything under the sun was ?hot?, the name ?Hilton? was most commonly recognised as being an international hotel empire. As a result of some rather difficult family circumstances, my folks didn?t want to venture too far away from home this summer. Whilst Coventry might not sound like everyone?s ideal holiday destination, it was far enough away from Lincolnshire ...
Advantages: Atmosphere. Well produced - Escapist Disadvantages: Story line too unrealistic for me
Last week I came across one of those special offers in HMV (4 DVds for £20). It was end of the season sale and I picked up a film called "The Village" just to make up the numbers. It struck me as being some sort of clichéd horror film from the blurb on the cover and I didn't expect to be watching it in the very near future. But it was one of those DVDs that keep popping up every time I looked through my shelf of dozens of other unwatched movies. Well the other evening, it popped up again and I just put it in the machine without giving it too much thought. As I wasn't in the mood for thinking anyway, it would probably be an ideal film.
As we got into the film, enter the monster, well, a glimpse of it. It was supposed to be scaring me but even my wife, who makes me jump out of my skin with her sudden screams in scary movies, remained ...
