Advantages: Cheap as chips, great quality Disadvantages: Funky bathroom smell
Well, some of the more observant of you may of noticed that I tend to travel a far bit. In fact, going through my old reviews from 2000 / 01, it appears that I have some review updating to do also! However for now, I'll concentrate on my recent experiences.
I'm what you would call a mileage whore. Before you all go off complaining the Ciao that there is a sex pest in your midst, the term is used widely in the US, and means a person that is brand loyal for the benefits you get off the company you are loyal to. I'm certainly very loyal to the Hilton chain, as you may see....
So, I've spent some time in Korea, and, as I was flying Virgin from Tokyo, spent a night at the Hilton Narita....

Advantages: Still the most beautiful city in the US Disadvantages: Hurricane Katrina
Reading the other site reviews, it seems like all of them were probably written before Hurricane Katrina did its job on NewOrleans. I've been back there several times since the storm, and have a few thoughts.

The house I grew up in was lucky: it was on the edge of the flood zone (which covered nearly the entire city, except for the older parts of town hugging the Mississippi River), and so only (only!) had four feet (1.3 meters) of flooding ...

Advantages: Sounds prestigious Disadvantages: Not good value for money
Three weeks ago my husband and myself went to Austria on holiday. Now, normally, we would book our flight from Stanstead as it's just down the road, so to speak, but as this holiday was a present from one of our daughters and her husband, we accepted gratefully what she had arranged, which was a flight from Gatwick to Salzburg leaving at 6.05am.
I didn't fancy spending all night travelling from Suffolk to Gatwick in time for the check in at 4.00am, so we decided to book a hotel close to the airport and travel down the night before. Well, I surfed the net and discovered the Gatwick Hilton for £139 for a double room. It sounded a lot but this also included 15 days parking, which would have cost around £70-80 on its own, and we didn't require breakfast that early in the morning. So, £139 for the room and parking seemed like a small price ...
