...back from staying in the Hilton Sharks Bay hotel in Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.
This hotel has been awarded 4 * and has 317 rooms. We mainly booked this holiday to complete our PADI open water diving course as The Red Sea is meant to be one of the best places to do this, and we found that it was reasonably priced to stay in the Hilton so off we went…
Travel Time from The UK
We flew from London Gatwick and our flight took just over 5 hours which ... ...which was 16 odd hours! Hilton Sharks Bay is very close to the airport and it took s about 15 minutes for the transfer which was included in the price of our holiday.
Price
We paid £575 per person for 11 nights on an all inclusive basis which I thought was very reasonable. We were originally looking to go for a week until we decided that we wanted to do out diving course and we were surprised to find that an 11 night stay was only a tiny bit more ...

Advantages: Has its own beach, great staff, good selection of pools, great for families Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...The Hotel is the Hilton Sharks Bay hotel and I will try and include everything I can remember.
The Check-in
This was very efficient and we were told to check in after we had been hurried to the main restaurant for something to eat as we got there so late as well. We had booked food for our rooms on arrival and after we had eaten, the sandwiches and fruit were in our rooms as well!
The porter took our cases and loaded them onto a ‘golf buggy’ and ... ...joke with us and asking me what had happened to the ‘other ‘girlfriend and why this year I had someone new lol!!!
The member of staff was very funny and really friendly and it was him who waved us off as we left as well (with a playful tear in his eye!) The Reception
The reception is as many others in its layout, which comprises and main desk on your right as you enter and there is also a security scanner similar to the airports to walk through ...

Hilton hotel in sharm El Sheik in Egypt
Sharks Bay
My Boyfriend and I booked this hotel when my boyfriend was on his RnR (Rest and Recuperation) from Iraq and we wanted to have something lovely to look forward to when he had finished his tour off duty. A holiday where it would be just the two of us and lots of sunshine. His tour finished in the early November and we were told that Egypt had a lovely climate/weather that time of year - great we ... ...it is after all the Hilton hotel franchise. Our tickets arrived in plenty of time, and were both very excited as this was our first holiday together.
*********Flight time from London Gatwick & Transfer time *********
I have to admit here I’m not one of the worlds best fliers but I found the flight very calm and relaxing. It took just over 5 and a half hours flight time, our flight operator was Monarch Airways. The onboard entertainment was not ...

Advantages: lots of sun, superb marine life, excellent hotel Disadvantages: The sea is deep in to swim.
We have stayed at the Hilton Sharks Bay 3 times now and it's like a home from home. We usually pay about £430 each for 7 nights all-inclusive stay. We normally book via teletext and we stay in June which mean the temperature can be 40 degrees plus. The hotel guests are mainly British. (Not yobs!!!) Of all ages.
There was/ is building work going on next door but it did not spoil the holiday which has been there each time we have stayed there.
Travel ... ...London. 30 mins transfer time in coach. You can get a taxi but the drivers rip you off and demand around £25. We got them down to £10 then they wouldn't budge down any less so we paid that. Its £6 from Hotel to airport!!! It only takes about 15 mins in a taxi as there are no drop offs /pick-ups.
Rooms The rooms are spacious and very clean. They have a Queen / King-sized bed or singles depending on what you have booked. There is a TV (with limited ...

...Sharm el Sheikh at the Hilton Sharks Bay just before Christmas. I felt compelled to write this review for two reasons. I spent ages reading everyone else's reviews and found them immensely helpful in choosing this place and secondly I add some information that is not already here. To be honest, we went with very open mind to Sharm and to the Hilton. There have been some very mixed reviews about the place in the last few weeks so we weren't sure what ... ...from the hotel to the Hilton in Narma Bay for 15LE (Egyptian pounds) each way per person. Narma Bay is a strip of hotels which leads into a main strip of shops selling what can best be descriped as 'tat'. It is typical foreign selling techniques of stuffing things in your hands, trying to talk to you. We ate at Hard Rock Café whilst there - seemed to be the best of a limited choice. If you go, have a great time and hope you enjoy as much as we did! ...
