Advantages: Big shows for Brum in 2001 Disadvantages: Its closed at the moment
The Birmingham Hippodrome- the 'Old Lady' of Hurst Street- built in 1899 is currently closed for major refurbishment thanks in no small part to a rather hefty £29.3 million lottery grant.
This money will be used to transform the exterior of the theatre into a magnificent glass-fronted structure that will dominate the skyline. This is a joint venture between the Hippodrome, Birmingham Royal Ballet and the DanceXchange and the new three-storied building will feature a massive dance studio, a dedicated dance injury centre and a small studio theatre with a capacity of 200 or so. Advantages: Great when original Abba music is played Disadvantages: Songs out of tune. Go to London instead.

I would pass on Bristol and go to the London show. ...
Advantages: Something for everyone. Disadvantages: Some people are put off going to the theatre-they think it is for the wealthy upper classes-come on, I prove that one wrong!
the theatre, I love watching plays and performing in them, and I love the actual buildings of theatres. There is something magical about them, and many of the older ones are haunted by the ghosts of actors (allegedly).
Hopefully the information will be of some use for some people, but if not, enjoy the read. If you are a country bumpkin, prepare to feel jealous of all the big city has to offer! Alternatively, if you are a person who thinks nothing works outside of London, prepare to scoff. Here goes, anyway!
