On the morning of delivery at around 9 am we were discussing telephoning the company to arrange delivery as stated on the form, when the phone in our room rang. On further checking the paperwork the Company now seems to be called HIRE FOR LOWER AT 14 ARCHER STREET SOHO LONDON W1 7BD. We paid £131 for nothing, and were left stranded in Malaga until the hotel took pity on us and found us another car which cost us a further £300.

We have just returned from our holiday in Andalucia, and we booked our car through Autos Abroad, after doing some research and finding them the cheapest around at the time. Even more so when I found an advert in my paper offering different discounts for different airlines. As we were travelling with Easyjet we would receive a £12 discount if we booked a car from them on the phone. The advert in the paper took up a whole page and as it was black writing on a yellow background it stood out well. There were three offers stating differing levels of discounts depepnding on the airline you were flying with. The reservations telephone number and a number to quote upon ringing was clearly stated. There was a date upon which the offer finished. The address and website was also advertised.
I rang one Sunday afternoon, and quoted the relevant number, giving all the details that they required. The assistant while sort of trying to help got a bit flustered when I explained that I wanted the car delivered to the hotel we would be staying in for the night that we arrived at Malaga. She took all the details down including the address of the hotel. Then she explained that she didn't know how to do it on the computer so would book it up then ask someone later, saying we would probably have to pay extra to have the car delivered.
I have to say I was a bit concerned about what if anything we would actually get once in Malaga. We duly received all the details, the hotel address being on them and correct. A voucher was to follow which we would need to hand to the local hire company.
On the morning of delivery at around 9 am we were discussing telephoning the company to arrange delivery as stated on the form, when the phone in our room rang. The local company Crown Rent a car had arrived with our car. Impressed my husband went down to sort out the details. He was gone some time but that was due to the car having to be parked some way from the hotel because of road works. The agent drove David to the car and back again, and would have driven us both and luggage back to the car but we weren't quite ready to go.
We had gone for the cheapest car they had and with the discount it cost us £78 for 8 days. But they had given us an ugrade, so instead of a 3 door without aircon we got a 5 door with aircon in fact a bigger car. It was a Fiat Punto, and it was only about 6 months old and in good condition. We didn't even have to pay any extra to have it delivered, as I had been told on the phone.
We had a lovely holiday the car worked hard for us going up and down steep hills and twisty windy corners. It had been delivered with a full tank of petrol, which we had to replace upon taking it back to their office at the airport. No problem as there is a petrol station right ouitside Malaga Airport. When we took it back all they did was make sure we had all our possessions checked there was no big damage to it, and that was it.
We have used this company before and we have crashed the car on a number of occasions. They have always been polite helpful and friendly, all we've had to pay was the £70 excess which was agreed beforehand.
All in all both my husband and I were very impressed with the level of service we received. The manner of the assistant on the phone locally being the only critisism.
I have to edit this opinion now and say to anyone reading this first account to disregard it, as we have just used them again and had absolutely awful treatment.
I booked and paid a car from them via the telephone to be delivered to our hotel in Malaga on 15th April 2003. We were staying there for one night before our onward journey to Frigiliana the next. I had no hesitation in using them again as the service had been so good before.
We wanted the car delivered at 9.30 am. This time arrived and went 10.30 still nothing. So my husband called the number we had on our paper work spending at least half an hour being kept on hold and transferred to different people, finally to be told we were not getting any car from them, but they wouldn't tell us why. We phoned the English end to be told it was true we would get no car because the two companies were in dispute with one another. We rang Crown (the local company) again who eventually told us that Autos Abroad had not paid them a penny of any car hire and that was why we would get no car.
To date we have sent 2 recorded delivery letters to them with obviously no reply. Small claims court next I guess.
Anyone thinking of using this company in future one word DON'T.

I also had a miserable experience with Sixt. I rented a car from their office in downtown Netanya. There was a wait of over an hour to get the car, despite assurances that it would be ready when we arrived. When we returned the car, there was another unreasonable wait, and they also charged us VAT, although tourists are not supposed to pay VAT on rental cars. ...

...been working on a car hire located in Spain for some years. 2 years ago, we were working with Hire 4 Lower, and our head office send us an email in wich they told us that we were not allowed to give any car to any client of Hire 4 Lower due to problems with this agency. Probably because Hire 4 Lower was getting the money of their clients, but they didn't pay any euro to my ex-company.
The worst thing was to be working at the office. We saw the clients ... ...speak with some one of Hire 4 Lower, to get finally no answer, no money and no car. I do not konw what has happened after that, when all this clients arrived to enlgand. I think, many complaints, perhaps some judjements. Please, If they are still working, do not use them. Book with any other companie, there are many car hire agencies that work really good and with a professional service. Thanks a lot for read it and sorry about my english. ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: poor customer service
In NOvember I booked a car for the christmas period. When I wanted to collect the car there was nothing available. Apparently the car rental company didn't receive the reservation from Autos Abroad. As it was just before christmas there was no car available and Autos Abroad couldn't do anything. The manager promised me the money back. After ten days I still have no money but worse they now pretend I never picked it up! THey ruined my whole holidays ...

Advantages: great service and great deals Disadvantages: credit card charges of 1.9%
Booked 7 flights with dial a flight last year, each time i have been delt with extremely quickly and efficiently by the same operator each time. I normally ask for Joe and get put straight through.
I always come away feeling like I have been given the best deal and the I've never had a problem with a booking, even got an upgrade on one occasion.
Some of the deals I have been given have come with car hire or Hotel nights, In Cape Town I got 5 days free care hire, a direct flight on SAA for a lower price than expedia showed for a flight via Istanbul!
The last time I called they wshed me a happy new year and remembered all my last bokings, nice personal touch from Joe. I have sent his number to some friends as well, When I spoke to them about they to were really happy. see for yourself his number is 0207 816 1133. ...

Advantages: beautifully scenic well maintained resort, suitable for all skiing/snowboarding levels of experience Disadvantages: Expensive, Not suitable for those with walking difficulties
of the resort also.
I participated in the 6 day beginners ski school with 'ESF''. The ski school cost approx £200 including ski pass. The ski school instructor, Ludy, spoke excellent english and was very professional yet fun! The equipment hire cost approx £60 for the duration. The hire shop staff were very helpful and the equipment was all in good condition.
The runs that I experienced were well maintained and there were plenty of resort staff nearby ready to help.
The resort itself is split into 3 descending levels -
The Top Level - Pizza Takeaway, Ski School Offfice, Spar, K2 Restaurant, Ski Shop
Middle Level - Beauty & Fitness Centre, Ski Shop/Hire, Spar, small selection of bars and resturants, various shops, cable car to 'La Roche de Mio'
Lower Level - Bowling, Ski Shop/Hire, Spar, small selection of bars and resturants, various ...

Advantages: Open air Theatre does not come any better. Disadvantages: Those hard seats, do not forget the cushions.
/Musicals and have never been disappointed.
If staying in St Ives, check OATES TRAVEL on the High Street who will have Bus/Play tickets available.
If attending a Matinee Performance do not forget the Sun Block you are very exposed.
Evening performances may well need something warm as the Sun goes down.
The lower seats do have backs, the higher ones are bench like, but they do hire Cusions, highly recommended, and I think they now even have back rests.
The Theatre is open most days for Visitors who just want to view the Wonderful complex. There is a small exhibition giving the Full Story of a Little Girl who came to Cornwall, fell in love with doing plays in the garden and went on to build a Theatre.
We have always found the standard of the performers very high, the sound quality is excellent.
Imagine you arrive about 6 ...
