Disadvantages: Not as close to the city as Tegel

...The old airport of the Eastern Part of Berlin has become today the Holiday Airport. While the Business Flight are still handled mostly through Tegel Airport. 80% of all Holiday Destinations can be reaches through Schönefeld. As Schönefeld is still a rather small Airport it is much more relaxing than at Tegel. Connection to the City ---------------------- The FASTEST WAY to reach Schönefeld is with the Airport Express, a train which leaves from Bahnhof Zoo (the West inner City) and Friedrichstraße (the East inner City) and some small Stops. It takes you in about 20 min for about 2 € to the Airport. By BUS you can Reach Schönefeld with the No 171 which takes you from for example the Underground No 7 right up to the Terminal Of course TAXI is available as well and will cost you depending on the time you travel and the traffic about... Advantages: the transportion,it isn`t far away from the inner-city
Disadvantages: there are three airports in Berlin

...airport and this will be the one in Schönefeld. Schönefeld isn't in Berlin and it is a big airport,too. The most people I know are travelling from the airport in Tegel because it is in the near of my home. I live in the northeast of Berlin. In Berlin everything isn't such as big as in London but London is a bigger city. When I was at the aiport in London I didn't know where to go. We were four people and no one know something or had been there before. Every year 10 million people fly from the Berlin airport tegel to their finsh country. At the airport there are 14 places for the plane. I think it is a good airport for Berlin and I hope the airport will be better the next years. Next year I will be going to UK and so I hope I can go to London from this airport. Elfilein... Read review

...I have stayed at this hotel twice and it really is great. The staff are really friendly, speak perfect English and cannot do enough for you. For the standard of service and room you get, this is a bargain. We paid less than £100 a night. It is well situated, next to the zoo, near good shops (KDW is within walking distance) and near a main train station with direct links to Berlin - Schönefeld airport (this is the one I use so I don't know about Tegal). You cannot beat the breakfast - absolutely amazing and the little biscuits and cakes you get with a cup of coffee in Marlenes are delicious. I lost my purse the second time we stayed there and when they found it, the manager telephoned at home to tell me it was safe and then posted it back to me. Stay here if you visit Berlin....
