Girgis. Talk a walk to the Nile at night. Its enchanting. To the pyramids at Giza hail a cab from outside the hostel. The Egyptian museum is walkable distance if you care for it othwerwise hail a cab. Islamic Cairo and the Khan-EKhalili market is also within waling distance but a taxi should only cost 5EGP. Walking in that area on Saturday night will be quite an experience if you wander away from the touristy market to the local market. It was quite an experience. There were multitudes of people selling everything from fresh figs to spices.
Sara Inn is also close to a 2 money changers. Once again the guys at Sara Inn will be able to help you.

The Dutch Golden Tulip hotel chain has two hotels in Egypt. One in Cairo and the other is a resort hotel on the Red Sea. On a recent visit to Cairo, I stayed at the Cairo hotel. It is a four star hotel and rooms start at about EUR65 a night.

The hotel also has its own bakery with very good pastries and breads. It is an area that is popular with a lot of foreigners, particularly Europeans. There is also an internet café just across the street.
While there is no ...
Advantages: Great location as a base to visit this city, well recommended Disadvantages: Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for
Krakow's airport (Pope John Paul II Airport) which is served from the UK by easyJet and British Airways.
The airport is about 11k from the city and there is a nearby train station from which you can travel cheaply in a journey taking about 15 minutes. I made the mistake of walking from Krakow station to my accommodation (it did not look very far on the map!) and I regretted hauling luggage over cobbled streets. You can get trams or taxis from the railway station readily all over the city.
Krakow is on the banks of the Vistula River and the old part of town is a horseshoe shape with the open end of the horseshoe at the bottom on the river banks (the horseshoe, in fact, is where the old city walls used to be - more about this later).
The HolidayInn is just outside this horseshoe, only a short distance from the most historic sights ...
