...We chose to visit the HolidayInnAlicante Playa de San Juan for a week in July after having three very pleasant stays in Express by HolidayInns in the UK. We were not sure what to expect in terms of quality, however it was probably one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in.
The cost was €94 per night for an en suite room with king size bed and an “almost double” sofa bed. However, this did not cause any problems as the apartments were quite a distance from the hotel, therefore not blocking the panoramic view.
THE HOTEL

Advantages: Beautiful,Clean city Disadvantages: Expensive, hilly, hardly any English spoken
...After having a day trip to Alicante a couple of years ago (Well actually 2 hours on a Thomson excursion) while staying in Benidorm,my wife & myself decided to use my last 4 days holiday entitlement to have a short break in Spain & found a really good value holiday in Alicante courtesy of Easyjet.

Well this is where things started to go wrong - I could not find an information desk so we decided to catch the bus & get one in Alicante.
As it was Sunday all the information places were closed so we finished up having to pay 5 euros...

As we stayed in a Crowne Plaza in Rome for ten nights we had earned quite a lot of points so we exchanged them for a nights stay in this hotel. We were staying on the executive level and only needed to pay for our breakfasts.
~ On Arrival ~
The building is not very appealing (and neither was view from the window in our room), but the interior of the hotel was quite nice.
There is a multi-storey car park next to the HolidayInn. We parked our car here then went into the hotel. Our check-in was ok; the procedure was carried out quite quickly. The lady on reception swiped our parking ticket so that we didn't need to pay to get out of the car park. (I noticed...

My wife and I have just spent a week at the Castilla and have returned home very disappointed with the hotel itself and the concrete jungle in which it resides. To start with the pluses: The hotel is spotlessly clean - though we did find in our room a... more
I stayed at this Greenwich hotel this Christmas and was drawn to it because of its cheap price for quality rooms. I booked through hoteldirect.co.uk.
