The reason I ended up staying at this particular hotel is a long, long story but the long and the short of it is that my two day stay there was a very pleasant one. The hotel is situated right on the banks of the ricer Clyde and is literally a stone's throw away from Glasgow city centre which is bursting with shops, pubs and clubs.
Glasgow's central station is only five minutes away from this hotel so it is easily accessible by train as well as by bus or car. The hotel itself has 128 bedrooms all of which have power showers and the room I had was very modern (as they all will be) and very, very clean.
The double bed was very comfortable and had a decent medium to hard mattress rather than those hotel beds you usually sink into. There was also internet access available which is an excellent thing for a hotel to offer these days in my opinion.
The staff in the hotel were very pleasant and mostly very friendly especially the lovely girl on the front desk when we checked in, she would be a real credit to any hotel chain. The hotels bar was very nice and the drinks were reasonable priced (£2.45 for a pint of lager and £1.90 for a small glass of white wine) and right next door to the hotel is an excellent Italian restaurant which offers terrific food.
Although I should never have been staying in this hotel I am very glad I did and I had a very enjoyable two nights in great comfort and would definitely consider a return visit. The room was a double room which my wife and I shared at the cost of £28 per person per night which is not expensive at al for the beautiful room and great service we received.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and can honestly say it is a better hotel than many larger hotels that I have stayed in, in and around this area!
