After looking through many internet sites to find a cheap and clean hotel for a friends hen party i came across Express by Holiday Inn Malton Road York. The recently Built 49 Bedroomed hotel has handicapped Rooms, facilities for meetings and also banquet facilities. There are also non smoking rooms available. Twin, double, family and accessible roms are available in the hotel.
It is based just two & a half miles from the city centre, where you can see all the local attractions York Dungeons, Jorvik Centre, Castle Museum, National Railway museumand of courseYork Minster. It also only an hours drive away from the seaside towns of Scarborough, Bridlington and Whitby. Shoppers are well catered for as there is the Monks Cross Shopping Centre a mile away but the city centre also has many shops to browse around.
Included in the price of your room is an extensive continental breakfast, where you can either eat in the Great Room or take back to your room. It is served from 7 - 11am with choice of toast, coissant, fresh fruit, variety of cereals, bread rolls, cheeses and fresh tea/coffee/fruit juices. Also free tea & coffee was always available. The Hopgrove Toby Carvery is adjacent to the hotel and serves good food all day every day and well worth going in for a drink. One of the main benefits is the free car parking facilities which seem to be hard to find in this area for hotels. A taxi into York varies from the hotel cost us £6-7 and the Park & Ride is only 1 mile down the road. Reception is 24 hours so there is always someone on hand if needed.

But please be aware if in groups as we were that there is a fee of £35 per complaint if your party is a little rowdy and disturbs other guests.
The rooms were clean tidy and the television welcomes you with your name on the screen which is a nice personal touch. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom was immaculate even providing dave soap and luxor shower gel.
Conclusion
Well worth the moeny and i would recommend to everone from couple, families and large parties. Booking early is an essential but once you arrive you can see why.
Advantages: clean, comforatable room, free breakfast, reasonable prices, top quality Disadvantages: choice of on-site dining very limited
...There are often times when you have to book an overnight stay, either for business or pleasure, well in my opinion you can do no better than try the new HolidayInnExpress hotels.
With competition fierce in the medium class, motel style accommodation, names like Travelodge, Travel Inn etc immediately spring to mind. A year or so ago saw HolidayInn – better known for their more upmarket hotels - enter the fray with their ‘Express’ range. These hotels are now springing up all over, often attached to or included in, a ‘fringe of town/city’ entertainment, shopping park. Certainly the first one that I stayed in, last year, fitted the bill.
Situated on the outskirts of Rotherham, South Yorks, the HOLIDAYINNEXPRESS 'ROTHERHAM' is an ideal place to stay if you are visiting any of the attractions in...
