Advantages: Clean and tidy, cheap, approx 1 mile from town. Disadvantages: Would have preferred to be within the town centre.

The hotel car park is huge as it also caters for the Racecourse, but i wouldn't imagine parking there would ever be a problem. It is also free for hotel guests which is becoming more unusual these days.

Check in was swift and efficient, the room was ready on time, and as members of the Priority club scheme we were also entitled to the use of 1 free film- from the TV channels. These included the usual naughties but also recent films like Hot Fuzz.
The exterior of the hotel was pretty basic, and i believe is only 3 or 4 floors high. The racecourse was visible from the car park and i believe on race days you would be able to see the horses and staff moving around.
Up to our room on the 1st floor, there was a lift but hardly seemed worth using so we used the stairs. The room was adequate although not luxurious. It was relatively spacious and felt roomy enough for the 2 of us. The bed was large and comfortable.
The room had a light airy feel with good sized windows which opened all the way up- a little dangerous perhaps for kids. The windows would be great in the height of summer as it didn't appear to have air con. They did however leave us a huge floor standing fan in the room which even in the dismal rainy summer we had this year, was welcomed.
The en suite was clean and tidy, with a shower/bath WC and sink. I would recommend taking your only toiletries as only very basic items were provided- i.e. soap, dispensable shampoo on the wall.
There was a TV which received some satelitte channels, and had a good picture. Tea/coffee facilities which were topped up daily,
We also had a desk and chair with internet access available if needed.
The hotel had a bar/restaurant- we didn't eat at any point so cannot comment on that, however we did use the bar briefly on our first night and found the service a little slow despite being incredibly quiet there. Drinks were surprisingly affordable for a hotel! They also had a quiz machine which kept us out of mischief.
The reception staff were very happy to order taxis, and the trip to the city centre took less than 5 mins and cost under a fiver each time. Wolverhampton itself has the usual shops/bars/hotels etc.
The hotel doesn't really have much else to offer in terms of facilities, no leisure club etc.
Check out was quick and easy.
On the whole the hotel is fairly basic but was clean and tidy and just what we needed after a day in wet muddy fields. For £52 a night i don't think you can go far wrong staying here, just don't expect The Ritz!
