Advantages: Location is perfect for shopping, eating out and going to the movies.
Disadvantages: Traffic noise.

...I went to the Holiday Inn Express (Glasgow) on a short city break from my home in Aberdeen - it turned out to be a pretty good decision... Holiday Inn Express (Glasgow) - Right in the Heart of the City Visitors to Glasgow will find this the perfect base from which to see the sights. It is next to the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre and virtually next door to the huge 7 floor UGC cinema. (This gets very busy in the evenings, so I would advise placing a booking earlier in the day.) The Burrell Collection is within walking distance. It's especially handy for a short city break when you don't have much time to travel from the hotel into the city centre. There is, however, less easy access to new visitor attractions... Fortunately the lovely people at Quidco offer a 5% discount, but you have to remember to go in via the Intercontinental Hotels Group link. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com You then have to log into your Priority Club account before you start searching out hotels and making a reservation. So it is a little bit more of an effort than say, making a booking on the Hilton website, but despite this - everything registers with Quidco so no problems there. I decided to book a room at the Express by Holiday Inn Glasgow Theatreland. One weekday night bed and breakfast in a twin room was £79 - a best flexible rate. Advantages: Location, parking
Disadvantages: Price a little steep for a budget hotel

...This thing about this hotel is it is great if you get it for the right price however it seem in recent years they have hoisted the price to the dissy heights of £65 per room per night which, in my opinion, for a budget hotel is pretty steep. This is not a 4 or 5 star but it is clean and comfortable. Rooms .... Most have a double and at least a single; family rooms available Tea and coffee making facilities Phone Remote control T.V.(No sat) On suite bath or shower depending on room A continental breakfast provided but it's basic, personally i like to head to the local starbucks nextdoor. The location is as good as it gets for Glasgow city centre, the hotel is situated at the top end of west nile street which is within a stones throw of the buchannan galleries and all of central Glasgows main shopping areas...
