as most wheelchair users know disabled facilities can be somewhat varied. this hotel is small but very friendly and better value than most. making the reservation was easy as was checking in and parking beside the door. although the room being upstairs is not as convenient as some it was no problem for me in my wider chair, but the lift is compact! the rooms themselves were however surprisingly large, almost suite size, and did come with the option of adjoining room. as advised at the time of booking the bathroom facilities are low bath and shower, but there were ample handrails for me.the restaurant menu is limited and as we were there at half term it is noisy. for the disabled the restaurant is lower ground and the seperate lift down is very snug. although the menu is limited and you need to check the boards yourself for added extras, the quality of the cooking was exceptional. we didnt add side orders and didnt need them in the end. one of the best meals i have had in ages for a set price. although i didnt use the leisure facilities they did seem to be popular from what we saw from the overlooking restaurant window. this may not suit all diners. we were made very welcome by the staff including courtesy calls. we did however observe one difficulty for disabled users regarding the breakfast as the comprehensive buffet is on a lower level again which means steps so many disabled would have to be served by the staff. this may be important to some but as i was accompanied by an able person this was not a problem for us. check out was equally quick. i certainly think it is a good hotel for its grading and would go to it again when in lancaster. my only gripe was that as a bacardi drinker they had none, imagine a hotel without a back up bottle and the barmaid was surprised such a drink was popular that week, a week to restock a little poor.

Quitea good Review, , but I think that it needs a lot more information and detail to justify a higher rating. Hotel Reviews need lots of detail on everything from the cost, to what's actually in the bedroom, to the fod, what is it, to customer service etc. It helps if you write every product Review as if you’re writing for someone who has virtually no knowledge of what you’re reviewing, in clear non technical language. You might find it helpful if you read and rate some other peoples’ reviews (especially those that have been rated VH or E). It might give you an idea of the sort of things you need to include. It might also be helpful if you had a look at the Ciao guides to writing Reviews and Rating I found them really useful. If I can be of any help feel free to put a note in my gb. Rich
