I?m torn between writing a glowing report of a hotel that is in a perfect position for travellers and business people alike or one that tears into the staff for their failings.
LOCATION
Firstly this hotel is in an odd position, just outside Royal LeamingtonSpa itself on a Retail Park / Business Estate, which isn?t as bad as it sounds but don?t expect stunning views of the surrounding countryside if you?re on the wrong side of the hotel! Incidentally, ignore the hotel blurb that says it ?overlooks? Warwick Castle ? IF you are on the right side of the hotel you can just about see the castle on a good day.
It was built as a Marriott Hotel which has been taken over by the HolidayInn chain who is owned by the InterContinental Hotels Group, they are best known in the UK for the HolidayInn brand and Crowne Plaza hotels.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on a 2 for 1 offer. It was really good value as we had a lovely room, although the view was non existent. However we didn't go there to look out of the window all day. It was 10 minutes down the road to Warwick where we spent a really pleasant day at the castle and in the town. It is also not too far to Stratford upon Avon.
The reception area, bar and restaurant were nice, although drinks were a little pricey.
This hotel is on a business park just outside LeamingtonSpa but is a pleasant area.
There is a retail park 5 or 10 minutes walk away which has Frankie & Bennys, Boots, Sainsbury's, KFC etc. And a pub which is a sizzling steak co. pub and does good value meals.
The car parking is free and plentiful. ...

The main feature of the rooms is that they include wooden shutters instead of curtains which are extremely effective at blacking out the room.

Price
The hotel can be very expensive if you just turn up and ask for a room so it is best to pre-book or keep an eye out for the many deals that HolidayInn offers on its website or in the national press. I usually pay between £50 and £75 per room per night which includes a substantial breakfast, although the hotel regularly offers a deal over a weekend where you get two nights bed and breakfast and one dinner for two people for approximately £99 per room per night.
