Where this hotel wins hands down is its LOCATION in the Russell Square area just a couple of minutes from the tube(2stops + to the West End) and a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the West End. The local surroundings were pleasant with a shopping centre including a Sushi Bar, Waitrose, Juice bar, Carluccios coffeebar/restaurant and clothes shops. Behind the hotel was a 24 hour Tesco stocking ...

Advantages: Cheap, great decor, friendly staff, breakfast Disadvantages: Poor view from room
...and were placed at The Holiday Inn – Bloomsbury for our two night stay. We paid £105 for two nights including our coach travel to and from London.
When we arrived we were impressed by the exterior and found the hotel lobby / reception area to be light, airy, contemporary and inviting. Check in was swift considering they had a couple of coach loads to attend to and the staff were very polite and friendly.
We were then given a key (well a card) ... ...this was set out buffet style so you could eat as much as you liked – a good start to the day.
All in all I found the Holiday Inn – Bloomsbury a good quality hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to stay there. ...

Advantages: Great 4* hotel Disadvantages: Isn't in a very nice area
...Me a three friends went on a recent trip to london. We try to do this a few times a year and normally stop with friends, but this time fancied a bit of luxury rather than sleeping on a cold floor with my friends feet in my face!!!
I had previously stopped at the Kings cross HolidayInn and was impressed so we choose to go there. Although its a little further away from oxford street and other sites, we knew what we were getting. Plus our friends live close by.
It is set in a horid area!!! and only view from your hotel window is of the royal mail depot.
However once you step in off the street it is a different story, definately a classy joint.
The rooms are nice and spacious, we had a twin room which had two double beds, so we did sleep two in a bed, the room is big with a TV, phone, air conditioning etc etc. Bathroom...

Advantages: Location, cost, facilities. Disadvantages: Immediate area is twin towned with Beirut
...I have stayed here several times in the last 5 years. Forget that it is in a bad area, when you are inside, you could be anywhere.
The HolidayInn, Kings Cross, is a proper four star hotel. The concierge service is excellent, especially for tourists looking for guidance on how to get around and see the sights. The rooms are well proportioned and very reasonably priced (for even better value, go to www.sixcontinentshotels.com/sixcontinentshotels, where you can register for their priority rewards scheme and get the rooms dirt cheap).
Okay, so you may get no view at all, or a great view of a huge Royal Mail depot next door, but in London you have to expect a certain amount of awfulness.
The point is that this is 10 minutes walk from Kings Cross station, and not much further from St Pancras. From Euston station, you could walk...

Advantages: Beautifully presented, very welcoming Disadvantages: Feels a bit rough in the surrounding area
...The HolidayInn Kings Cross/Bloomsbury is a beatifully presented and welcoming hotel. The decor is clean, modern and, to a degree, much more opulent in design than other holidayinns where I have stayed.
The room itself was large with a king size bed and a very nice seating area (which I presume will change to a sleeping area if required. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and about average size for a hotel of its class. The view from the window is disappointing: a narrow street with industrial style buildings surrounding. Close the curtains though and you could be anywhere in the world.
The staff at the hotel are extremely welcoming and accommodating. They were very helpful and could not do enough for you. I found it very interesting to observe how 'international' the staff were. I was very aware of their excellent ability...
