Me a three friends went on a recent trip to london. We try to do this a few times a year and normally stop with friends, but this time fancied a bit of luxury rather than sleeping on a cold floor with my friends feet in my face!!!
I had previously stopped at the Kings cross Holiday Inn and was impressed so we choose to go there. Although its a little further away from oxford street and other sites, we knew what we were getting. Plus our friends live close by.
It is set in a horid area!!! and only view from your hotel window is of the royal mail depot.
However once you step in off the street it is a different story, definately a classy joint.
The rooms are nice and spacious, we had a twin room which had two double beds, so we did sleep two in a bed, the room is big with a TV, phone, air conditioning etc etc. Bathroom was really nice.
I would'nt advise booking directly with them as it is expensive, we booked through a website. A twin room for 4 people starts at around £100 up to qround £180 for 1 night if you book on their website, this isn't bad £25 per person. then an extra £12 for breakfast. Search around on the internet for good deals we got a night for 4 people plus a breakfast each for £70
Also we got a free breakfast which is normally £12 definately get one of these even if you have to pay. As you get everything it fed all of us, plus we filled our bags up with the left overs!!! You get a full english each with everything, muffin, beans, mushrooms, bacon, sausages, egg etc etc then you get coffee, tea, juice, and toast, croissants, youghurt, cereals, fruit, a cereal bar you name it you get it!
HaHa sorry I had to laugh. It reminded me of some colleagues many years ago who wanted to come to London. They stayed in Kings Cross - it is a real grotty area!
It is full of Toms and my colleagues were being really silly and took some photographs as they came home. By accident they caught a pimp in their photo's he followed them and took the camera and removed the film. It was pretty scary for them.
