One of my favourite features in this hotel is the roof pool. These are common in most Singapore hotels, but this one is a huge, overflowing marble ... ...is beautifully lit for night swimming, when the temperature is perfect. There is a large jacuzzi next to the pool and a sauna and fitness centre inside.
Singapore breakfasts are great, because they involve dishes from so many cultures, but I haven't found many other hotels that focus on Indian food, as well as the usual English and Chinese. The buffet selection is wonderful here, everything from vegetable curry and rotis to mock abalone ... more
Of all the hotels I have stayed in in Sing, this is definitely my favourite. It's all the flash, marbled, gilted, chanderliered swankiness you can desire, with great facilities, service and efficiency, as only Singapore can do.

These are common in most Singapore hotels, but this one is a huge, overflowing marble affair, with foliage around the walls, the odd gecko, and is beautifully lit for night swimming, when the temperature is perfect. There is a large jacuzzi next to the pool and a sauna and fitness centre inside.
Singapore breakfasts are great, because they involve dishes from so many cultures, but I haven't found many other hotels that focus on Indian food, as well as the usual English and Chinese. The buffet selection is wonderful here, everything from vegetable curry and rotis to mock abalone and noodles, and plenty of yoghurts, fruit and cereals. The are three restaurants for dinner, including an Indian and Japanese, but with a wealth of eating places just outside the door, there's a good opportunity to enjoy cuisine at budget-friendlier prices.
The hotel is situated just behind Orchard Road, and while the views of the freeway on the other side of the hotel are not particularly spectacular, the location couldn't be better. Step out of the door and there is an abundance of shops and entertainment, and at Christmas time a trip to Orchard Road just for the lights and decorations is a must.
There is an MRT and bus station nearby on Orchard Road, and the hotel has a shuttle to the airport, which is about 20 minutes away. This is not the cheapest 4 star hotel in Sing, but I've stayed in a few others, and it is worth paying that extra few pounds for the location, the breakfasts and the atmosphere.

Stayed here in March 08 and April 06. The hotel is in a good position just off Orchard Road. However, don't expect any great views as it has buildings on three sides and a freeway on the other. Bathrobes and slippers were provided and a good selection of toiletries including razor and toothbrush. There was a safe in the room and fridge. Ice is available on a couple of floors.
The rooms are well furnished. The bar adjacent to reception is good and ... ...time for with a really extensive selection, although the coffee was not the greatest.
Can recommend the Indian restaurant in the basement for a good meal. The roof pool is very good with excellent changing facilities. Unfortunately it poured with rain the time we visited it last!
The hotel is convenient for public transport, but taxis are really cheap.
Service is good and we found the staff helpful. On our last day we left late afternoon, but ...

is excellent value, and because public transport and taxis are so reasonably priced in Singapore, and the hotel runs a free shuttle service, it would be a value place to stay even for people who want to spend all their time downtown, which is only 10km away.
This is a good, middle of the road hotel. To compare it with two other Singapore hotels I have reviewed on this site, it has high standards approaching the excellent HolidayInnParkView, at a price little more than the below-par Miramar. If you want quality, but don't want to pay for it, this is the hotel for you. ...
