We stayed in the Peterborough Holiday in for one night a few weeks ago on a Saturday.
Location:
The hotel was easy to find following the instructions provided from the A1(M) and was in a resonably green and pleasant location. Car parking was more than ample, even on a Saturday night.
Hotel:
On arrival the reception was clean and modern and the staff were friendly and efficient.
A range of facilities were available including leisure facilities (Which we didn't check out so I can't comment)
The room:
Our room was a standard Holiday in affair but was clean and comfortable and fairly large.
The main critiscism I would have is that there was a large wedding reception going on in one of the hotels function rooms on the night we stayed. Our room was positioned directly over the main entrance and the window was single glazed. Noise from guests smoking outside as well as taxis and buses pullin up and leaving was coninuous until around 4am the next morning making sleep very difficult. I would advise others to ensure that if they are staying on a Saturday night or during a large function that there room is at the back of the hotel.
Had our room been in a different location it certainly would have been a comfortable and pleasant place to stay.
Customer Service:
On leaving the next morning we complained about the noise and the location of our room. We received a pleasnt apology and a VERY small refund of £5 as compensation. Given the level of noise we experienced this was not particularly satisfactory!
It would therefore as I said above be advisable to check on the location of your room when you check in.
Conclusion:
Overall a decent hotel with good facilities and pleasant rooms in an easy to reach location. However, some rooms are poorly located and very noisy.
