Advantages: Very exciting, rich and entertaining city Disadvantages: Can get expensive
...shape. North Dallas is the more upmarket side of town, while south Dallas is covered by a ‘dry area’ law which tells you enough about the area. No alcoholic drinks can be sold there. This is an area best avoided really. I played golf down there once, and will never forget walking into a McDonalds. It was just like walking into a Wild West bar, everyone went silent. I just ordered and got the hell out of there as quickly as possible fearing a cowboy boot in my arse!!!
In terms of scenery there isn’t much. It’s very flat, and basically semi-desert. I was surprised at how much greenery there was though, but that’s due to there being sprinklers on 24/7.
WEATHER
Texas is well known for its heat. I love the heat, but this is on a different scale from your European holiday destinations. Temperatures stay well over...

Advantages: Beautiful. Large. Filled with things to do. Disadvantages: Uhmn...I used to live there.
...is a lot of beer bottles crashing to the floor - this is NOT a good place to bring kids, as almost everybody is roaring drunk, and some are fighting.
If you don't want to stand around and watch the country singers, you can go ride the mechanical bull for a nominal fee. This is fun, actually - if you don't mind grown men in cowboy hats and tight Wranglers laughing at you, that is.

If you have the choice, I suggest you land at DallasLoveField. Its...

Advantages: Loads of attractions, 5th Floor Museum, cafes, restaurants, sporting venues, shopping, skyscrapers Disadvantages: None at all!
...I visited Dallas in November 1997, as my uncle and auntie live there. It's a brilliant city, a traditional, American city with an amazing downtown with millions of incredibly tall skyscrapers, which look incredible both in the heat of the day and at night. One of the best attractions in Dallas is the 5th Floor Museum. This is the exact site from where the US President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated. It is fascinating finding out all about his history and how it happened. There are loads of great places to eat in Dallas, and so many great attractions such as the Gallaria shopping mall, which has an ice rink in the centre which is lit up to stunning affect!...

We stayed here for a week in August. Check-in was very quick and the staff had put a cot in our room for our little one which was great. The rooms are a good size and are of a nice finish, fresh and quiet. The bed is a good size and the bathroom was... more
