A girls holiday was in order and Cork seemed like the perfect location as it was slightly cheaper than Dublin but there was still lots to do.
After trailing through many search websites we finally came across The WindsorInn hotel. So this is where our problems began.
We booked the hotel through booking.com and got to the end of the whole confirmation part and paid when a pop-up came along saying the room we'd paid for was not available. I tried contacting booking.com who confirmed that no payment had been made, I even phoned my credit card company to make sure.
So an hour later we'd booked another hotel and I went to my emails and low and behold I found that I had confirmation of the WindsorInn saying that we did have the room. (I eventually paid for 2 hotels in the end and had a real problem ...
Advantages: Modern, great location, excellent facilities Disadvantages: Can be expensive if not booked through a deal

The main feature of the rooms is that they include wooden shutters instead of curtains which are extremely effective at blacking out the room.
Internet Access
High-speed Internet access is available in all rooms. It costs £14.99 for 24 hours or £75.00 for a week.
Price
The hotel can be very expensive if you just turn up and ask for a room so it is best to pre-book or keep an eye out for the many deals that HolidayInn offers on its website or in the national press. I usually pay between £50 and £75 per room per night which includes a substantial breakfast, although the hotel regularly offers a deal over a weekend where you get two nights bed and breakfast and one dinner for two people for approximately £99 per room per night.

Advantages: Great Price. Good location for roads. Next to park and ride, cheaper than paying for parking! Disadvantages: Another Holiday Inn, nothing that unique about it. Surly reception staff.

The Room
The hotel has three main room categories, standard, executive and suite.
The rooms we had booked were all standard and from what I understand the executive rooms gave you bathrobes, mineral water and a few more treats but nothing to write home about!
The hotel was relatively modern and the rooms were in good condition. They had a contemporary style and were typical HolidayInn carbon copy hotel rooms. Everyone a replica of the other.
The room was fitted with the following,
*A double bed with average linen. There was a pillow selection menu allowing you to order your favourite pillow from reception. The bed on the whole was comfortable but the mattress was a bit hard.
