I recently visited London for a couple of days (Monday to Wednesday) and rather than sleeping on a friends sofa decided to try out a website I had seen reviewed on Ciao (priceline.co.uk). After trying the site a couple of times to see the variation in price I booked a 4 star hotel in the Kensington area for £41 (plus taxes etc). When the confirmation came through I was informed that the room I had booked was in the HolidayInn Kensington Forum (for anyone who has never seen this site before I recommend reading some of the reviews on it, it will save you loads of money.). The only downside to the site is that you don?t know what the hotel is until you have booked it so I was relieved to see that it was part of the HolidayInn chain and felt confident of having a pleasant stay.

Advantages: Good value for money, well positioned (close to shops, restaurants etc.) Disadvantages: Limited parking, not as modern as many other hotels
I stayed in this hotel for two nights when I went to London with my family, and although it wasn't the best hotel I had visited it served its purpose as a comfortable place to stay. Since we were out most of the day and again for dinner in the evenings, we spent little time at the hotel but was nice all the same. I would assume that most people visiting London would want to see the sights rather than spending their entire day in the hotel room, in which case the HolidayInn is a good place to stay.
We ordered the full English breakfast each morning- there was a good selection of food and you could take as much as you like. However, the dinner menu was mainly Indian food so there wasn't a great variety to choose from; so we decided to find a nearby restaurant (which there are plenty of).
The hotel rooms are spacious and clean ...
Advantages: Excellent food, friendly staff, convenient location Disadvantages: Small rooms
We stayed at the HolidayInn Leeds Garforth for one night on Saturday 30th March 2008 as an overnight stopover on the way up to Darlington for my friend's wedding the next day. We chose this hotel because of its location, the late check-out time and because it looked alright from the website.
Hotel Information
The HolidayInn Leeds Garforth is a 4 star hotel located in a quiet rural location on the outskirts of Leeds. It has 144 rooms situated over 2 floors, the majority of which are non-smoking. It has plenty of parking spaces in a well lit car park and parking is free, we had no problem finding a space. It has a health centre with swimming pool which we didn't have time to use, a business center, bar and restaurant, and 24 hour room service. Check in is from 3pm and check out is at 12 noon. Rooms start from £53 but are more ...
