My partner and I have recently returned from SantaPonsa after a one week break.
We stayed in the Parasol Apartments which is just a few minutes walk from the main cetre of SantaPonsa.
There is a very good atmosphere here. The town has a whole range of different bars and restaurants. There is a very Irish feel in SantaPonsa with a great deal of the bars being Irish run. Everyone is very friendly and although it was very busy there it was not as hectic as places like Magaluf and Palmanova.
The beach is superb and very clean. There are lots of boat trips around the beach and these are very good value for money.
It is very easy to travel around to local attractions and the bus service is excellent.

Advantages: Rich in history, very friendly locals, wonderful scenery Disadvantages: Mozzies, sewer, quite touristy
(although the food range does decrease dramatically if you are vegetarian - this is, after all, a coastal town).
--Entertainment and Culture--
Hotel entertainment is much like the rest of Mallorca - tribute bands, music, comedians - some very good, some questionable, but you'll be sure to enjoy yourself nearly all the time.
SantaPonsa has a large amount of bars and clubs, although these are only open during the holiday season of April-October.
SantaPonsa is interesting in that it is one of the very few resorts in Mallorca that is rich in history. It was the landing place of King Jaime in the 13th Century to conquer the islands from the Muslim inhabitants. As I stated in my review of SantaPonsa, I have been to this area around 10 times and every time I have stayed in the same hotel and have been extremely impressed with the hotel and the service there.
--Location?
The Rey Don Jaime (King James) is located on the Calle Puig Mayor, 100m from the main beach in SantaPonsa. SantaPonsa is located in the South West of the island (read my review to find out more). It is one in a chain of hotels ? ?Marina? - located across the Balearics and Spain.
--Getting there?
If you get a coach transfer from the airport i.e. you are with Thomson or some other package holiday provider it will take about an hour ? it?s the last one on the ?tour? of hotels in that area of the island. If you go under your own steam and book a taxi it will take about 30 mins.
