When we booked our trip to Oasis I wasn’t convinced. The girlfriend wanted a weekend away. Great I thought - Amsterdam here we come, work had been tough and I felt I needed a bit of break. Ah but hang on a minute we want a weekend in this country and also on the cheap!
There was something about the place that scared me – I had a horrible feeling she would have me traipsing around on Mountain Bikes 24 hours a day and hunting Squirrel’s to BBQ for tea. We recently went on holiday to oasis whinfell, which is located in the Lake District about 15 minutes from Penrith. It took us just over 2 hours to travel there from Ayr, Scotland. The Park itself is set in acres of woodland with a small lake in the centre. There are lots of footpaths and cycle routes throughout the woods and the wildlife is amazing, there are squirrels and rabbits that just sit at the edge of the paths and watch you go by.
On arrival at the park at 11 am we checked in through some rather fancy looking drive-through doors. After parking our car in the extremely large and rather disorientating car park we set about finding our way round the immense park itself.

disco continues after the show is over until about 1 0'clock. Children are also allowed to come to the shows and disco with their parents. The real fun came for me when I had to cycle up a massive hill after one too many bacardi breezers!!!
Also visit the country club during your stay. There are some really nice shops here to buy sports equipment. However, I forgot my swimming costume and found the costumes within this complex to be a little bit pricey!
There are so many endless activaties at Oasis that you will have to look hard to find a better all round family holiday. Other activaties inc Quad biking, Horse Riding, Ice skating and much more.
Most things are reasonably priced, and entrance to the world of water is free. There is a really nice warm pub near to the country club, I forget its name but you can't miss it. The food is ...
