...either as I was there to see New York, but I had a look at the menu and it seemed very posh and fancy and most likely expensive too. On the last day we wanted to finish looking round so we wanted to leave our suitcases with the concierge, he was fine with that but on leaving them he said that they might have to open them to check them, I assume to check people weren't stealing things, and if they were to do that it would have meant them breaking into my case as I have padlocked and a tracvel strap accross it, so with that in mind we decided to take them with us but because he already had hold of them he insisted on taking them to the doors for us, which of course meant we had to tip him, which I didn't agree with for all of 2 feet. ...I was rummaging through the closets of my brain this morning trying to think what my next review would be about and it struck me that even though I have New York in my username, because I love the city with a passion, I have yet to write a review about it. So here it is! I have wanted to go to New York for as long as I can possibly remember. I think it may stem from watching lots of American films when I was a youngster (such as Home Alone) that centred around New York, particularly at Christmas time when it showed the big Christmas tree at Times Square etc. I was lucky enough as a child to be taken on lots of family holidays, and while they were lovely holidays, New York, or America for that fact, was never on the cards as a destination as nobody else in my family wanted to go there. Advantages: Clean, nice rooms - amazing views from roof top balcony
Disadvantages: 24 Hour coffee bar was actually a vending machine!!

...to be, and helpful and the whole check in procedure was quick and easy. The staff are bilingual – although this was not needed in our case – but handy to know if you do not speak English. **LOCATION AND CONVENIENCE** Well, The Bentley Hotel is situated on the Upper East Side of New York, on East 62nd Street. It is 15 miles from JFK airport – (which is where we flew in from) 10 miles from Newark airport 8 miles from La Guardia airport. Everywhere we went to (and that was a lot of places in 3 days!) seemed easily accessible by cab. This was an experience in itself, the driving, the honking and so on, but the hotel itself is situated very close to Roosevelt Island and the East River.
