Advantages: Location, happy hour, well equipped suites Disadvantages: Pool enclosure
...Have been to the HomewoodSuites 7 or 8 times. The suite consists of a lounge/kitchen area, bathroom and a bedroom (there are some two bedroom suites). Suites are very well equipped - 2 TVs, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, safe, ice maker.
The wardrobe space is on the small side, but drawers are adequate.
A buffet is provided for breakfast with some hot food and a good choice of items. On four nights there is a 'happy hour' with free beer, wine and snacks. There is otherwise no hotel bar or restaurant.
The hotel is very well positioned, just off International Drive between The Mercado (now unfortunately closed) and Pointe Orlando. There are other restaurants in easy walking distance including Bahama Breeze, Tony Roma's and the Olive Garde.
The pool is is surrounded by the hotel and gets no sun in the morning or late afternoon...

Advantages: Close to Battery Park & Lower Manhattan Districts Disadvantages: None- {slight work noise from ground zero, to be expected}
...Our 10 day , 9 night stay was from the 30th of August until the 8th of September, arriving in the early hour of Saturday morning back in the UK.
We flew from Manchester Airport Terminal 3 with British Airways economy class to New York JFK airport Terminal 7.The flight was just under seven and a half hours and included a hot inflight meal and also headphones to watch inflight movies of which were available.
The total cost of which included insurance, flight taxes and fees , airport parking and the price for the super shuttle mini bus to take us from Jfk airport to the hotel and then the return journey back was at a cost of £2,824.27 of which was booked online through Expedia.
This was for myself and my husband staying in a Junior Suite on the 25th floor {room 2511}, this did not include breakfast.
The hotel has a gym...

Advantages: close to airport, comfortable Disadvantages: expensive, dark
...’s a dedicated check in and executive lounge on the 2nd floor to ensure that you have a hassle free arrival.
There’s also a Honeymoon Suite in the hotel.
PRICES:
We stayed in the hotel at a cost of £45 per person but I think this was because we were part a large group and therefore discounts are available. The current starting costs for the Hilton Gatwick are from £99 upwards, with higher class suites being individually priced. Rooms can be booked by fax, phone, online or in a travel agent’s.
I have also stayed in ‘Le Meridien’ hotel in Gatwick and would say that for the same price this hotel is much better value as it gives you larger more tastefully decorated rooms, a better health suite, a more pleasant experience and it is also located within the main airport itself via another sheltered walk way – all for a similar price....
