Disney Hong Kong - Where dreams sort of come true!

Advantages: All rides, shows and fire works display included in your ticket price
Disadvantages: Alot smaller than imagined

HONG KONG DISNEY LAND - June 2007

This theme park opened in 2005 so it is fairly new and is 126 Hectares. It has four lands which are Fantasyland, Adventure Land, Tommorowland and Main Street USA, which all have there own theme and different rides!

...only thrill ride in Disney Hong Kong. It is an indoor roller-coaster which has sharp quick turns and dips. It makes you feel like you are shooting through the stars you are going that quick. You are advised before you go on the ride that if you have neck or back problems not to go on it and this definitely needs to be listened to, as during all the ride you are jerked and shook about as you go through the darkness. After I got off this ride I had ... more

the fantasyland

Advantages: it's disneyland!!!
Disadvantages: not for people looking for exciting rides

The latest tourist attraction in Hong Kong: the Hong Kong Disneyland. It is absolutely a fantasy land but please don't expect this to be like other Disneylands in the world. This is a much much smaller one and exciting rides is not its attraction. In fact, only the Space Mountain could be considered as an exciting ride. But if you are looking for some fantasy and you have always enjoyed the shows in Disneyland, this one could serve your need. 1) ...
...to other Maxim's restaurant in Hong Kong. If you don't wanna waste time on eating (as it usually takes more than an hour to eat in a chinese restaurant), and want to go for something other than typical western fast food, I would recommend the bakery called "market house bakery" in the middle of the main street, which is also ran by Maxim's. The food inside is freshly made everyday with the choice of different types of bread, pastries and drinks. ...

Disney Hong Kong Style

Advantages: Quiet
Disadvantages: Not very big

Hong Kong Disneyland is situated on Lantau Island where it was built on reclaimed land. It was opened in 2005 and covers approximately 100 acres though expansion plans are in the pipeline this is the smallest of the Disneyland resorts. It is very easy to get to from Hong Kong as the MTR runs there with the last leg of the journey from Sunny Bay station being on a Disney themed train with Mickey windows and hand pull also in the shape of Mickeys head ...
...USA Attractions here are the Hong Kong Disneyland railroad which can take you a tour round the park with one stop in Fantasyland. Don't be put off - just go!

Advantages: Beautiful park and setting, cheap prices, great shows, great fireworks each night
Disadvantages: Small, not that many attractions yet

...I didn't hesitate to add Hong Kong to the list. If you go knowing in advance that this is a much smaller park, then you shouldn't be disappointed. We found it a beautiful park, and we had a super day there. Unlike other Disney parks, there's no need to be there especially early, so we casually made our way from Kowloon by MTR, which includes a changes before getting on Disney's very own train from Sunny Bay station. The detail in the train alone ...
...bought tickets there and then without having to queue. We went on a midweek day at the end of November, and were pleasantly surprised by the number of people there. It was quiet enough to get on most rides without much of a wait, but busy enough to have a great atmosphere. The Christmas festivities that were in full swing may have added to the attendance. The park was spotlessly clean, and all the staff were very friendly, chatty and smiling - ...

Disneyland Hong Kong

Advantages: Good day out for family
Disadvantages: NA

...it has finally arrive in Hong Kong, my birthplace. It is located in the Lantau Islands, close to the new airport. I went there after a few months of opening. You need to get on the railway network of MTR and interchange for the Disneyland Resort Line at Sunny Bay Station. In there, you can on the special "disney" train. Once I got on it, I was already very excited. Inside the train, they have put in various statues of disney characters on display. ...
...I went to both and it was a good opportunity to take lots of pictures. In the evening parade, they also have fireworks which can really spice up your evening. It is not exceptional to those who've been to Disneyland but it's Disneyland in the Hong Kong style. ...

Review of Ocean Park, Hong Kong

Filled with fun

Advantages: A fantastic park full of fun and Chinese culture
Disadvantages: Takes you a while to get round the park it's so huge

Ocean Park is a fantastic theme park and zoo to visit in Hong Kong. On our week stay in Hong Kong we wanted to visit one of the theme parks and went for Ocean Park over Disneyland as we'd been to Disneyland Paris and fancied something with a little bit more Chinese culture in it. The park is absolutely huge and is located on a headland on the south tip of the west side Hong Kong Island and is split by a mountain separating two sides of the park. There are so many things to do including big thrill rides, small rides for children, spectacular shows, or visit all the animals. Marine Land An exciting place for all, Marine Land is home to all sorts of sea attractions including an aquarium full of thousands of fish, sharks and rays; the Ocean Theatre where you can see a spectacular dolphin show; the Pacific Pier which is full of fun ...

Check Out That Junk

Advantages: Comfortable, great service, attention to detail
Disadvantages: None really

Features". OK, reassuring, but it did get the mind racing! Arrival and First Impressions The hotel is located, as the name would suggest, in Kowloon, on the Chinese mainland; the district is called Tsim Sha Tsui. It looks across the harbour to Hong Kong island. The airport is on the neighbouring island, close to the new Hong Kong Disneyland. From the airport it would be quite easy to take the MTR railway to the hotel but with luggage, and after a long flight, you may opt as we did for a taxi. The public taxis outside the terminal were about half the price of a hotel car and just as quick, we arrived at the hotel about 25 minutes later. The entrance is quite nondescript, we may as well have been turning into a car park; but we stopped, someone rushed over to help with our bags, and then we were walking into a lobby which instantly ...
